I previously had rated this restaurant 5, but after the recent incident at the restaurant , I felt its really not worth it. And I believe the recent new staffs are to be blamed for this unpleasant experience for most of the customers.
So here is what has gone wrong. I have visited the restaurant at least, 10 times in the last 1 year. But things started going wrong from my 8 visit to the restaurant onward.
There is a new waitress who has joined the restaurant, the way she handles the customers is really pathetic. During my first visit I felt her way of keeping the plates, dishes on the customers tables were so noisy that you literally feel a thud sound. I felt that she may since she is new she might get used to it as she gets more experience.
During my 9 visit again the same lady served us and this time it was no different experience.
But yesterday was so horrible, we are vegetarians and we had ordered vegetarian food for my kid. But after couple of spoons my kid found something strange in her food and informed us on the same. When we inspected her food we found it to be Non-Vegetarian.
Still being patient, understanding that no one would do this on purpose I politely called a different waitress and explained her the situation, they didn't even bother to apologise in the first place. Feeling sorry for my kid I again called them to ask where things went wrong to understand if our order was not taken properly. But they just mentioned you should speak to our manager.
The person who took our orders was really good, but the person who supplied our order and served us during our 8 & 9 visit really don''t know how to treat the customer, Today again after paying our bills through card, she just throws our card on the table. I some how get a feeling that even though this is an Indian restaurant they don't treat the Indian customers well, not sure if I am right about this but this is only my assumption.
Also the lady to whom we told that about the incident didn't care much, all she wanted us to do is speak to the manager.
Now my kid is down with stomach pain and has got skin allergy after having Non-veg food.
All I ask the restaurant people is to be apologetic when something goes wrong on their end, have concerns regarding their customers, be very cautious about customers dietary requirements.
This is totally unacceptable, would never visit this...

After a scenic trip to Fort William, we made our way to Rishi’s South Indian Restaurant in Glasgow, drawn by its reputation as one of the best spots for South Indian cuisine in the city.
The first impression was warm the décor strikes a good balance between traditional touches and a modern, comfortable setting. Initially, we were seated away from the main area, which felt a bit disconnected from the lively atmosphere. We requested a change to a window-side table for better light and ambiance, and the staff, though a bit hesitant, asked us to wait a few minutes. Thankfully, the wait was short and the new table made a big difference to our overall experience.
The food largely lived up to the hype. The mains were flavorful and well-prepared especially the curries, which were rich and satisfying. The tandoori roti and garlic naan were particularly impressive, both in texture and authenticity. However, the starter pepper chicken was a bit of a letdown. We expected a dry version, but what arrived was more like a curry. Unfortunately, the menu didn’t specify the style, which left us a bit confused. It’s a small detail, but one that could improve the experience for future diners.
On the brighter side, the drinks we ordered lemonade and mango lassi were refreshing and complemented the meal well.
All in all, Rishi’s delivers on many fronts and fills a much-needed gap in Glasgow’s South Indian dining scene. A few tweaks to the menu clarity and seating arrangements could elevate the experience even more, but for authentic flavors and hearty portions, it’s definitely...
Read moreIt was our first meal since we got to Glasgow. This place was highly recommended by my husband and MIL when they were here a few weeks ago. When they returned to Toronto they both raved it was the best Indian food they’ve ever had.
The food did not disappoint at all but they did not mention how amazing the staff was as well. Our waitress (sorry I forgot her name), was patient to clarify a few things and was so super friendly. We had a nice conversation with the manager.
When we got back to the hotel and referred to the receipt for the name of the amazing dish we had, to find out we got charged the beer we accidentally spilled majority of it (clumsy us) was going to be removed off the bill which we were really appreciative of but it was not.
Then there was a mix up with the ice cream with the dessert. My son was given a scoop of ice cream which we first thought it came separately from the dessert but to find out later it was more complementary.
When we got the dessert with the ice cream, it was two full scoops and the manager thought we had received it already and was about to take it away so we said we’ll keep it and offered to have it charged but the manager said not to worry about it. On the bill we were charged for two full servings.
The amounts were nominal and it’s on us for not reviewing the bill at the moment but we were in such food bliss we overlooked it.
Other than that, it would absolutely not deter us from going back to enjoy another feast.
If we could give it a 9 out 5...
