In brief: Great, unique sandwiches and cakes; nice decor, though not somewhere for a long comfy chat; coffee flavour unfortunately left something to be desired.

Stopped in for a quick sandwich (great selection - not run-of-the-mill!) and a coffee. The staff were friendly, though I can't comment too much; there were more staff behind the bar than you'd expect while I was in and there seemed to be a shift change taking place, so the overall impression for that short time was understandably not exactly what you'd describe as 100% customer-oriented.

There are just a few seats around the walls with ledge-tables for people grabbing a quick break, and the door was propped open so it's not somewhere I'd go for a catch-up with an old friend. The food, however, was great (crayfish filling on a seeded bread roll) and the cakes looked delicious.

The only big disappointment was the coffee. When I was leaving I ordered a large black coffee to take with me, and at one point I got the distinct flavour of liquorice. I appreciate coffee for the flavour rather than the hot-drink-and-caffeine aspect, so I was a little let down.

Judging overall, though, I'd definitely go back for a classy, non-packaged or mass-produced, flavoursome...

Love this place been coming for years, the cakes are all homedade and change a lot, they’re fresh and not full of emulsifiers used to make the texture last longer, like cakes in pound shops that last for weeks.the coffee good and the sandwiches are Devine.I will keep coming back as I reckon this place is the best of the best in Glasgow ,it’s not cheap, but then you would pay similar for rubbish food.the coffee is on the small side I have dropped a star as ont o the staff recently has the total wrong attitude for riverhill, she is abrupt non welcoming, she shouts out the prices to the staff to charge but has an attitudal issue I said the cakes are so good I could eat the lot,she just says nothing ,makes you feel like a means to and end for her.Her attitude is I feel at odds with the lovely food soups etc ,and you basically have a person imo fit for a burger van selling dross who I get the vibes wouldn’t give a damn what...

RUDE STAFF & TRASH DRINKS – NEVER AGAIN!

This café? Absolutely ridiculous. From the moment I walked in, the staff were giving attitude for free. No greeting, no smile just bad vibes and blank stares like I was bothering them by placing an order. If you hate your job that much, go home!

I stood there waiting while they moved like sloths, chatting behind the counter and acting like customers are invisible. Then they finally hand me my drink with all the energy of someone tossing leftovers in the bin and guess what? The drink was nasty. Watery, bland, and made with zero care. Might as well have sipped hot disappointment.

The whole place is trying to be “cool” but just ends up feeling cold and unwelcoming. Sticky tables, dull atmosphere, and staff with the charm of a wet sock.

I’m not spending my time or energy somewhere that can’t even show basic decency. Never again.

A customer...

What a fabulous little find. Located just across from Glasgow Central Station, I popped in to indulge in a caffeine laden beverage and a snacket before setting off to complete the Street Mural Trail. There was indoor breakfast bar style seating and benches outside, or you could simply take away. The array of sweet and savoury food choices would have been difficult if I hadn't spotted a chocolate brownie that was pleading to be eaten. Reasonably priced, clean, and inviting. An array of people were popping in and out whilst I indulged in a bit of people watching from my window seat. A number of people were clearly regulars. The staff were all polite, helpful, friendly, and happy to share a smile and laugh. Thank you for starting my visit with such a positive vibe.

It's a small coffee bar that is great for takeaway and good for a quick sit in if it's not busy. The seats at the window provide a nice view if you enjoy people watching, and the staff were extremely welcoming and delightful. The coffee was nice and smooth, and the food was rather flavourful. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. However, there aren't many vegan options. The pastries and treats looked incredible, but I have yet to try one myself. It's a little pricey for a small bite in a small establishment, but I know small businesses are struggling with inflation at the moment, so I can not be too harsh about that. Overall, I would definitely recommend popping in for a coffee.

Wanted a quickly cooked breakfast before heading out of Glasgow. Ended up getting just a coffee because the hob was a flat surface grill that cooked everything including eggs, which I am allergic to and mentioned to the staff. The breakfast I saw others have looked lovely though. Just a pity that they don’t cater to allergies. Also, they’ve got a small sitting area so your best bet is to take out or suffer getting squeezed between the rush hour queue, and smell of grease on your clothes and hair after you’re done eating.
