A first and a last unfortunately. Slow service despite it being not too busy and food was not all that. We decided to try this out for the first time for a birthday dinner which I explained on arrival. We were greeted well and drinks were ordered shortly after. An explanation of the menu recommendations would have been a bit better as it was our first visit than several members of staff circulating us asking the same thing. After having the starters service seemed really slow. A good 40 mins into placing the order we were informed that one child won’t get their Mac n cheese side as there’s only enough left for one portion which is fine and if we wanted to replace it or leave it. We decided to just leave it but were very quickly interrupted by the waitress to say you’ve already been charged for it so you might aswell. Why they couldn’t cut it out from the bill system, I’m not sure! Once everything came out there was still a burger missing. Staff seemed flustered and a bit all over the place after. Few different members coming back and forth to ask the same question about what was ordered. Anyway despite the long story by the waitress explaining to me how it’s not their fault about the missing burger the whole experience just felt off. Could see the staff while we were dining mumbling amongst each other and looking over in our direction which felt extremely uncomfortable. No one came back to the table to check in with us again or approach the table to ask for more drinks. I had the intention of trying dessert but wasn’t asked and glad we didn’t bother either as we just wanted to get out of there. Still not sure but we took a guess if you are just supposed to get up from table to pay for the meal at the drinks bar before leaving.
Food - burger beef meet was extremely dry, buns didn’t feel fresh and crust was crispy maybe over toasted just didn’t seem fresh, smallest portions of chips on the side which tasted as if they had been fried a while ago too as they were cold and the mac n cheese was a bit watery. We spent over £100 here on the meal and it definitely wasn’t the fine dining experience we were hoping for!

Read moreWell this truly was an experience to remember but for all the wrong reasons. A short review on Steak Lounge and Grill.
Let’s start with the main focus, the reason you probably went to visit this restaurant, the steak. This was the most anticipated part of the experience that ultimately was the biggest let down. We had spoken to the owner of the restaurant who had hyped this beef cut to be “Aberdeen Angus” and in the top 2% of all steak qualities. He name dropped that his Chefs were from the famous Miller and Carter and other steakhouses. As the saying goes, a chef can have all the best ingredients but lack the skill and palate to produce a meal of the finest quality, as promised by the owner.
So let’s get into why the steak was as poorly reviewed as it is. Firstly, the most important factor was the taste, or for better expression the lack of. I have never eaten a more bland and unseasoned cut of beef in my life. My family were desperate for even a pinch of salt on the table, which there was none of. You would hope that the sauces would help this situation and that’s why we sampled several of them. All as tasteless and bland as the steak itself. The House Sauce of note was similar to eating tomato purée. Lesson learned! Next time bring a bottle of tomato ketchup and a salt shaker! Finally the cook of the steak was massively undershot, I tend to order a medium rare and I’m confident I could still hear this cow Moo!!!
On another note the chips were hard and dry, peri chips were awful and chicken wings were average. On the bright side the mash was soft and buttery.
The highlight of the trip was the owner taking none of the criticism and rudely saying “Your palate must just be different to mine and that’s fine”. What happened to the customer is...
Read moreOur experience at Steak Lounge and Grill was disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. Despite notifying the staff that we had an additional guest, no real effort was made to accommodate us. Instead, we were told to simply add another chair to the end of our table, making the setup cramped and uncomfortable. This lack of professionalism set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Starters that we didn’t order were brought to the table, and there were significant delays between dishes being served. When the food finally arrived, many plates were cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. To make matters worse, several sides were missing for multiple guests, leaving people waiting even longer for what should have been included with their meals.
The steak doneness was consistently wrong across the table—some steaks were undercooked and rare when medium was ordered, while others were overcooked and dry. The waiter, who may have been the manager, was rude and abrasive throughout the meal. After we had paid, he even made a sarcastic remark, “Hope you guys tip well,” which was completely undeserved given the poor service we received.
At £35 for a T-bone steak with one side, the prices are excessive for such a poor experience. While the owner was friendly and pleasant when he came over, it wasn’t enough to salvage the evening. I would recommend Bufalo Grill instead, which offers better food, service, and reasonable pricing. Save your money and avoid this place.
TL;DR - instead of this place, consider Bufalo Grill for a decent & reasonably priced halal steak...
