As a back to back Alea vegas package winner 2024/2025 I would like to thank the Alea casino and especially card room manager Chris cushngham for organising another wonderful trip. Your made to feel like a VIP from start to finish on this trip. Business class flights to & from London Overnight hotel stay and dinner in London. World club plus flights to vegas. VIP chauffeur transfers and Diamond check in to your very own personal suite in Caesars Palace. $10,000 buy in to the main event. But it doesn’t stop there. We were treated to the finest dinning vegas has to offer. The World famous Golden steer steakhouse. Amazing Caesars Bachanall buffet. Carmine’s Italian restaurant. And The Absinthe show. Chris asked you every single day if there’s anything more he could do for you what a credit this young man is to the Alea casino. I choose to play my poker at the Alea casino Glasgow because Chris and his hard working card room staff have made it feel like a community atmosphere whether cash games or tournaments. Which leads me to say what an awesome transformation and vision Chris and his staff have done bye bringing so many excellent and exciting tournaments Such as Irish poker tour. Sky poker and soon to come party poker not to mention the festivals they hold on a regular basis. The slight downside is the food and beverage could do with some tweaks for poker players menu. And am sure players would love it if there was more than 6 vegas packages , say a dozen one per month was up for grabs. I thought last years vegas trip could not be topped but this years surpassed it due to a lot of hard work and preparation behind the scenes. Well done guys. Looking forward to trying to compete for another trip to vegas. Yours in poker Tony the...
Read moreThe TL;DR? Since it changed owners, not the venue it used to be. Other nearby alternatives do almost everything better. NB no more complimentary soft drinks for members.
Ok first the positives: Prime spot, conveniently located at Glasgow Quay. Big space with nice views of Clyde. Staff are nice when you can get a hold of one of them to serve you.
(And now the negatives...)
But there has clearly been a leak at some point on the first floor, and as a consequence the place smells like the gents urinals. Not nice when you are trying to have a drink on a night out with friends, and you've taken them out to the Alea. Parts of casino are also starting to look a little run down/tired.
Worse still (!) they appear to have started charging members and patrons for soft drinks when they were complementary before (unless they spend £20 gambling per day?)
None of these issues at the 'Riverboat' casino just across the water - regretably will be taking patronage there from now on. Slightly smaller venue, true, but the view and furnishings are just as nice, if not better, doesn't smell of urine, better staffed and drinks are still free (can't help but feel saving pennies on drinks might cost pounds in custom on that one guys).
Shame Alea isn't the same quality, good value venue it was before it changed hands to its...
Read moreAbsolute joke of a place!! Went as a group of 15, lovely meal although we spent over £1000 as a party night including a private booth. Staff wrongly accused my husband of taking drugs and he was removed from the building. Case of mistaken identity and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Staff were rude and the manager on the night was no help whatsoever. They had no idea how to communicate or listen to us. There was no proof of what they were accusing him of and the 'eyewitness' security guard blatantly lied to my face when i questioned him. All 15 therefore get up and left and certainty won't be returning. Spent a lot of hard earned cash here tonight for it to be ruined will be writing to head office to put in a formal complaint of how we were treated after spending so much money. Please dont go to this place if you want to chance your night being ruined!!! Very...
