My 2nd time visited the restaurant. On Friday night 11th March, we booked the table this time as last time we had to wait for like half an hour for a table. We ordered Thai iced tea (Cha-Yen) and green tea which they came in plastic cups...And why the other drinks come in proper glasses?? And I would say for that price you could have got a large size not small like them.
Starters we ordered chicken satay and grilled pork skewers (Moo Ping). The satay sauce tasted weird (ps I'm Thai). For me, this doesn't taste a real satay sauce at all. For the Moo Ping, they did smell bad a bit like they used almost out of date pork to make. Not fresh tasted horrible. I think they don't want to waste the pork so just use them up to save costs or whatever but for a restaurant like this, freshness and tastes should come first.
Main course, we ordered Gai Yang (grilled half chicken, Som-Tum, LOTS OF VEG, pork crackers, sticky rice, some sauces, served on a tray on a newspaper!). Newspaper and grilled chicken...NO!!! I don't want to eat all the ink Excuse Me! So I had to ask for a plate. To me it's a creative idea that they try to represent the Thai street food but they don't do this anymore in Thailand as the oil and heat would absorb the ink on the paper and who would eat that!! Chicken was too dry. The Som-Tum which I had asked for it without the wee prawns, they still made it with the prawns!! and it tasted really really salty. I could hardly find the taste of a Som-Tum, was almost going to ask for some sugar and lime and I'll just mix it myself LOL. And yeah I did not finish my main dish it was just too much of a poor taste. Believe it or not this menu costed me bloody £16.......
My boyfriend had chicken green curry with rice. I had a spoon just to taste. And again, that's not a taste of a green curry!! :((( some kind of curry sauce with chicken, green beans and chilli that's all.
So, that's it no desserts and we just asked for the bill...
Overall I liked the atmosphere, decoration, music and a friendly Thai waitress - don't know about the other staffs as didn't serve us. But really, for me as I'm Thai, the chef and all the menus need to be improved, make them taste more authentic. I was too polite to mention all my comments to the waitress as she's Thai and she's a friendly staff so I thought I gave a review here.... Not really sure if we'd go back again for a meal, didn't really enjoy...

Brother and I decided to try this; it was my birthday treat from him to me. Of all the places we could have gone, I can honestly say this was a major disappointment.
Ordered large Coke for each of us as we're driving. Arrived in average sized glasses, but his wasn't filled but rather about 2" off the top. As he quickly emptied it discovers it was loaded with ice too. £ 3 a glass.
Food, and the positive is the pork skewers (Moo Ping) were excellent, but that's where it stops at the starter. Brother's chicken spring rolls (Por Piagan) were absolutely tasteless. They give you a sweet chilli dip and even adding as much of that as you can it's still devoid of any taste.
Brother ordered the green curry (Gang Kiew Wangan) and described it being worse that those you buy out the supermarket. I opted for the Massaman Gai, a curry described as "Often ranked No.1 as most delicious dish!". It was nothing special, and really very lacking in any flavour at all. The Ken Hom chilled meals from Tescos are far superior.
The rice was either reheated badly, or had been sitting cooking for a long time.
Service? I ordered another Coke and the barman seemed more interested in chatting than doing his job. Waitresses had a lack of genuine interest in you too.
A very poor reflection on Thai food, which having tried other places such as Thai Siam in Glasgow, can be some of the most delicious food you can imagine. Thaikhum just isn't the place to experience Thai...
Read moreI have always been to this place over the past few years and the food and service has been great until recently. My sister had ordered the street noodles which came super late while the rest of the food was already on the table, but the restaurant was fairly busy so we didn't mind. When the noodles first came they were completely dry and lacked flavour so my sister told the staff and they bought her some sauce on the side. My sister then kindly requested if they could cook it with more oyster sauce as the sauce they provided didn't add much flavour to the noodles and was simply a hot dipping sauce. Food came back the second time and it wasn't much different, noodles were still bland and at this point, my sister just ate a few bites and left it. In the end my sister told a senior waitress that she was disappointed with her meal, the waitress didn't want to hear it, she was so passive aggressive and kept saying "you should have told us before" my sister repeatedly explained that she had already told the other waitress and felt embarrassed asking for the food to be altered a third time. The rest of the food was great and so was the young asian girl who took our order, but the street noodles were awful and the woman who I believe was thai, I think her name was Jan was just rude. Will not be returning.
Looking at the reviews below someone has posted the street noodles and I can confirm mine did not look like that. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the food but it lacked colour, flavour and was...
