30/01/2025 Table booked for 1715, 8 people We booked after seeing the 50% off whole menu deal. Arrived on time following the ‘strict’ policies on having a reservation. Staff were attentive straight away taking drink orders, bringing our drinks and taking food orders. After around an hour from our drinks arriving, we were finally presented with the three starters that we had ordered. Weren’t anthing special, we all agreed the starters we were given were pretty poor but we’re starving at this point. Once they were cleared we were asked (by a different server to whom we had to begin with) if we were ready for the food to start being made, which we replied yes to. Twenty minutes later we were asked again if we were ready for our food to start being made (by our original server at the start). It took over an hour from this time for our mains to arrive baring in mind there was only 3 other tables of two in the restaurant at this point. During this time there was no attendance from any severs. No one checked in on us for drinks or just to acknowledge the delay. Once it hit the hour mark we went up to the bar to order more drinks for the table and ask when the food is likely to be out, which was followed by letting us know they had a big table downstairs and were struggling. Understandable that they may be understaffed and over capacity for the staff working but when waiting that long it should have been acknowledged. Once our food finally arrived ( we were missing one meal that we had to then wait further on) we all were extremely disappointed, yet again the food was nothing special and nothing like the food we have received on previous occasions. We paid and left, no apology for the excessive time taken or forgotten meal. Cannot fault the male server with the beard and glasses though, he was extremely friendly and understand the situation was not his fault. However, we started to feel quite ill after leaving which led to sickness over night and still feeling ill the next day. This is too much of a coincidence for almost our whole table of 8 to all be experiencing (the only person who did not consume meat is completely fine). Will not be back and definitely will not be...
Read moreHad to leave 1 star so I could leave a review, but this place doesn't even deserve that. Was really looking forward to trying this place so came here on Saturday with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner. I've never had a worse meal in my life.
The only good part of the night was the bottle of wine (which in fairness, was way overpriced). We ordered 3 "grazers" to share: halloumi bites, bread, olives and dips and chilli and garlic tiger prawns. Halloumi was good as you can't go very wrong with it. Chilli and garlic tiger prawns on the other hand was just covered in chilli flakes, no garlic and definitely weren't tiger prawns. They were the mini ones. Bread, olives and dips were just thrown together and the olives were covered in oil as appeared to be straight out of the jar.
For our main courses I had the creamy seafood tagliatelle and my boyfriend had the 8oz Sirloin steak. My dish was inedible. Pasta was so over cooked it was sticking together, far too much parmasen cheese so it was stuck in a ball, too much cream so it was swimming around the bowl, mussels in their shells which some were cracked so had to avoid lacerating my throat from the shards and the mini prawns again. My boyfriend's steak dishes was supposed to be served with chips but he got 8, the peppercorn sauce he ordered with it was peppercorns in butter so it was a paste rather than a sauce. The broccoli that was served with it was rock hard and the steak was very fatty and could have been cooked better ourselves instead of wasting £24.
The inside of the restaurant did look nice, but I was sitting on a sofa eating my dinner which isn't ideal. Maybe if it was an evening of drinks or a Sunday morning coffee, then fine.
Safe to say I wish I had chosen somewhere else to celebrate my birthday and will be avoiding this place at all costs...
Read moreWent just before xmas for xmas meal/night out, on arrival we were completely ignored, eventually had to be asked to be seated a few times, got the impression they had forgotten about our booking. Were seated downstairs in a booth, we settled ourself then were left for about 15mins, no-one came to get drinks orders. Were about to go and look for staff when someone arrived, only to be told we had to move seats, to a table for 4 (there were 5 of us in the party) we reluctantly moved and squished around the table. Had to wait again for a further 10-15 mins for drinks, then another 10-15 mins before we got our food order. In the meantime, another party of 5 appeared and were seated in the booth we had been removed from! Why could they not have been seated where we had been put? Anyway, determined to enjoy our night, we finally got our food and further drinks, which took a long time to arrive. When they did, I got 2 cocktails poured over myself!! Obviously an accident but I was soaked from head to toe, the staff cleaned the table but had to point out to wipe the floor. I took myself off to the toilet to try to dry myself out, what a pigsty! Loo roll all over the place and looked like someone had peed in the sink, really disgusting! When we were standing outside the toilets about leave, we were asked if we had a booking, I said we were about to leave! When we were ready to leave, we were completely ignored again, the staff behind the bar in heated discussion totally ignoring us. Never had such poor service! Food was average but the poor service just ruined the whole experience. They obviously could not cope with the amount of bookings. Very...
