The Braes — Restaurant in Scotland

Was in the mood of an all day breakfast and decided to stop in at Braes on the Perth Road Dundee .I was met at the door by a young lady who introduced herself as Becky and was advised of the QR code and the sanitation station . I was then given a menu and shown to my seat ,after a quick read of the menu I stuck with the all day breakfast and a fresh ground coffee . The order now taken I watched Sky sports news,. coffee was delivered within a couple of minutes ,piping hot and you could smell the fresh roast . I was enjoying the sports when to my surprise my breakfast arrived within ten minutes .WOW , two of everything eggs ,bacon, square sausage ,black pudding ,potato scones, tomatoes beans and toast . Where was I to put it all?? I dug in and started my feast, well I was more than impressed with the quality and the presentation food was hot and served on a hot plate ,delicious .Becky checked on me to see all was as ordered and to my satisfaction., and indeed it was .Congratulations to the team at Braes .Based on my experience I would highly recommend a visit . Was very disappointed by the food last night. My boyfriend used to go to Braes all the time before covid and always had great stuff to say about it but when I finally had the chance to try it for myself last night the food was not at all the standards I was expecting. The cauliflower wings were completely burnt, the bun on my friend's burger was as hard as a hockey puck, the chips were dry and tasteless, I ended up getting a different burger than the one I ordered - to top that off the food took about an hour to get to us even though it wasn't even a busy evening - I would dread to think what it would be like if it were busy! We had to cancel the new cauliflower wings they were making for us because we had decided to continue our evening elsewhere and it was taking the chef far too long. I felt really bad for the waitresses who were serving us because they were so kind and accommodating and clearly embarrassed by what was happening. Will not be going back for...

Highly recommended (especially vegan🌱) Accidentally found this pub at the end of my day trip. Great & friendly staff - I wanted to get half a pint of beer ( I am not good at drinking but they have Dundee local IPA Beer - so wanted to try it) and got a pint after I paid. I told them and they kindly changed my beer as well as helped me to get a refund. Great selection of high-quality vegan food at a reasonable price - ordered a nice-match quesadilla - was delicious food! Again ocean view + dog welcoming 🐶 (+ trendy, cosy and tidy!) specious and great Atmosphere as well.
