This was, without exaggeration, one of the most humiliating dining experiences I’ve ever had. My wife wanted Vietnamese soup, so we came here. The waiter at first was friendly, but after dropping our food he vanished, and the real “service” began — being treated like a liar in front of other customers.
After eating, I stepped out to take a phone call and came back to use the bathroom. Instead of basic courtesy, I was stopped three separate times and interrogated like a thief. I literally pointed to my wife still sitting at our table, and they still refused me access. Imagine paying to eat somewhere and being denied the toilet because staff can’t recognize their own guests.
When I returned to sit down and just get the bill, the same staff member came over again, this time aggressively, asking yet again if I was even a customer. The arrogance, the lack of respect, and the sheer incompetence is shocking.
We left disgusted and embarrassed. If management allows this kind of behaviour, it says everything you need to know about the place: they don’t deserve your money, your time, or your respect.
Response for owner:
Thanks for your response, but let’s be clear — there was no “misunderstanding.” I was sat inside eating a paid meal with my wife. Being stopped three separate times, refused the toilet, and then aggressively questioned again at my own table is not a communication error, it’s a complete failure of basic customer service and respect.
Bringing up “issues with the general public” is not an excuse to humiliate paying customers. If your staff can’t tell the difference between someone dining in and someone wandering in off the street, that’s a training problem — not my problem.
I did not leave feeling “comfortable” or “handled” — I left feeling disrespected, embarrassed, and determined...
Read moreHaving thoroughly enjoyed visiting Pho in London & Edinburgh, we were so excited to visit a new branch in our own city of Glasgow. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below the usual standards. We arrived and were seated, and waited 30 minutes to order a drink. Despite there being plenty of staff and opening weekend, we were ignored for 30 mins. We then ordered a drink and our food, whilst watching people round us who arrived after us being served their starters. We then waited a further 30 minutes for our starters. I asked a member of staff to check on our food, as it had been so long and other customers were now having their main course while we sat with nothing. The member of staff went to check, but didn’t return. I then checked again, she said she would check with the kitchen. The food arrived another 10 minutes later- with no apology for the delay. We then waited another 30 minutes for our main courses. By which point we’d been in the restaurant for over an hour and a half, and we had to rush our main courses to be able to move our car. 2 hours should be more than enough for a lunch. The food was okay, but let down by the slow, unapologetic service and lack of recognition of the ridiculous delay in food and drinks, whilst other diners seemed to be served the exact same food far quicker, and even finished eating and left before we had been served our main courses. Adding 12.5% service charge is a joke when we sat and waited for ages with no apology. We were so excited when Pho announced they were opening in Glasgow, but after a really frustrating experience, we won’t...
Read moreVisited for lunch on 10/05/24. Wasn't busy but a bit noisy due to the loud music which didn't add to the atmosphere. We were shown to a window table by a young lady who didn't give her name and looked like she would rather be elsewhere, she also didn't help with the menu. We waited 10 minutes for her to return to take drinks order. While there other people came in, ordered and were served before us so service wasn't great. Finally the young lady took our order of Mango salad, recommended as a starter/side, chicken rice bowl and one chicken ca-ri (curry). The mango salad tasted nice, lots of strips of fresh vegetables and a fresh fruity dressing but I couldn't see any actual mango pieces. Was it possibly a mango dressing? The rice bowl had around 6/7 pieces of chargrilled chicken thighs in a nice flavoursome rub, boiled rice, large cucumber chunks and a radish and vegetable pickle. All in all it was a decent portion and well flavoured. My husbands chicken curry came with boiled rice on the side and he said that it tasted good, not too spicy but was only lukewarm. Meanwhile tables of 1, 2 and even 4 were coming and going. It was then that I noticed there was also rice in the curry bowl, were they running short and padded it out with more rice? My husband said that due to the waiting times he didn't want to complain or hang about any longer so we paid bill including service charge which you aren't told about. So okay food, slow service and loud music with slightly...
