Atlantic Fish Bar — Restaurant in Stockport

Ordered and paid for 2 large chips. One was bagged straight away and sat there getting cold and soggy while they waited for more chips. On getting them home (2 minute walk) found portion sizes odd. One was indeed a large chips the other was smaller than a normal portion from any other chippy.

Taste wise probably suffered from the sitting there waiting. Not good at all and very disappointing after a friend recommended this place.

Service wise wasn’t brilliant. Didn’t feel like my business was wanted - more like I was an inconvenience. No probs, I won’t be going again.

EDIT. It’s been a long while so I gave this place another try. Or maybe it’s was because the two I went to first had long queues and this place was empty. I should have read the signs.

Speaking of signs, I saw the price list over the counter, but i don’t think either of the two servers have, I was overcharged. The service was rude again.

I should listen to my own advice and not go back. I doubt it will be...

I have been wanting to try this chippy for a while, and yesterday, I managed to. I was not disappointed! I'm assuming it's the oil they're cooked in, but the chips reminded me of how they used to taste back in the 70s and 80s. Absolutely lovely! I stood outside with my dog and had to order from the doorway. They couple who were working there were lovely. They couldn't have been more helpful.

Urgh. I've just been back tonight, and the chips were awful. I don't know how long they had been sitting there. They were barely warm, hard on the outside, and now in the bin. I'd suggest asking for fresh chips if you try this chippy. I will go back to using my usual chippy.

Great Halal Fish & Chip Shop in Stockport. Small Fish & Chip doesn't look small at all, hugee portion. It's one of the best Chippy I have been to. Very clean, friendly staff, good service and prices. highly recommend, it's definitely worth trying. You won't be disappointed.

17/06/2024 update Very, very disappointing with the food quality. This is the 2nd time the food was awful. The chips were burnt cold when I ordered the 5 portion of fish & and chips. I special told the staff to make sure all the food is fresh, but it wasn't. Find the updated pictures, don't recommend anymore, and now have to change my rating from 5* 1* as this is 2nd time...
