Yuvraaj Restaurant — Restaurant in Sunderland

Searched online for a top rated restaurant/takeaway and was impressed by the ratings and reviews given to the Yuvraaj so I thought I'd give it a go. The building is clean and rather impressive and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The food I had chosen (a takeaway) was ready for collection as ordered. Unfortunately, that is where my positive experience ended as I found the food to be somewhat disappointing. The Bhuna Chicken on puree starter was rather bland with shredded meat as opposed to chunks which I prefer, the meat in the main course of chicken pathia was dry and again fairly bland to the taste, the cheese and garlic Naan was also rather tasteless. Mushroom Pilau rice was nice but failed to compensate for the lack of quality in the rest of the order. I have no idea why the food was below par especially when I see how others sing the praises of the place with their experiences and reviews - perhaps it was because I had chosen to try the cheaper "Sunday night special" menu but even if that were the case the food could have been better. Hopefully, the negative experience I encountered was a one-off and future patrons of the Yuvraaj will have better, quality fayre. Sadly, I will not be back to discover whether mine was a one-off experience or not but would like to say "good luck" to the staff and all future...

This is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is phenomenal and the service is impeccable.

As a family we like to try lots of different restaurants depending on what type of food we fancy however this has become our regular as we can always rely on a great meal. Unlike many other Indian restaurant we have been to where you just always order the same thing every single time we have tried just about everything on the menu as they will do any order at any level of spice heat That you request. They are always happy to try to accommodate little changes in requests of different dishes. The decor is lovely the staff are always friendly professional and accommodating. Everyone to we talk to feels the same way as us that we are made to feel like we are friends of the restaurant. From sometimes just being me and my partner for a meal to then having a family meal with the kids or celebrating birthdays with large gatherings we have never ever been disappointed and regularly recommend eat to our friends. Regularly when we sit down for a meal there will be several other tables in the restaurant of people who we know add they also never have a bad experience and want to return...

Best Indian restaurant in Sunderland. I've been countless times and thought it was about time to pay them their dues.

I travel up and down the UK for work and I can say with some certainty nothing comes close to Yuvraaj in any respect.

Their food is always absolutely delicious and fresh. The service even better - I've never experienced a superior service anywhere in my life. Moni the owner cannot do enough to ensure you enjoy your experience. He has always remembered mine and my partners name even from the first visit, very professional and very impressive and adds a personal touch.
