Clyde's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Tamworth

Decided to book a table here due to convenience of being next to the bowling alley. I agree with other reviews that the bowling is cleverly kept separate enough that it doesn't distract you whilst eating.

Plus points: The chicken based products ordered from our very large table was cooked to perfection. And the steaks were a little under but still very tasty. Staff are friendly enough and tried to explain issues when asked to.

Negatives: We arrived for our table and orders placed. Had a considerable wait for milkshakes to leave to the kitchen - restaurant was at approximately half capacity. Asked a member of staff how long as everybody else had their drinks and were half finished, staff member explained they would find out. Came back and explained we would need to wait longer. No time given. But they eventually arrived and are very tasty milkshakes in fairness. Ordered mains, waited 20 minutes and we could see a fire in the kitchen. (Not in their control and not a complaint, these things happen). Supervisor came to the table and explained there would be a small delay due to the grill playing up. Food starts to the leave kitchen again and we again wait 20 minutes. I asked a member of staff how long and we are told 40 mins. I explained this was a crazy amount of time for a half filled restaurant, she then asks if she meant how long for our table specifically? I was a little confused as to why she would think I meant anything other than our table but confirmed I had meant this. She again left to ask and returned with 20 minutes. It arrived after 10. As said above, some of the order was perfection and it cannot be faulted. The beef burgers were very dry unfortunately and we were charged £10.95 for a plain chicken burger with nothing on. Some of the party decided on desserts which arrived after another wait. But no complaints from the desserts, a small recommendation would be for the pricing to be lowered slightly however. £4.95 for 3 scoops of OK ice cream is a little steep. Mains and starters are well priced though and I'd happily pay again if there were no concerns. Bill arrives and I ask for clarifications. Member of staff is unable to explain to me why we have 6 milkshakes on the bill when we ordered 3 so asks for a supervisor to support. We wait 15 minutes for a supervisor and are told they are currently dealing with multiple complaints from another large party sat across from us. Supervisor arrives and as said above is very helpful and clarifies in no time. They then remove an item from the bill which had been added in error.

In conclusion, the food was ok. The dessert pricing needs a small review and the staff are friendly.

Visited today and while the food was great and the service was on point considering how busy your staff members were i have to say the atmosphere left little to be desired! I was with my family and a young child and while i appreciate you cannot control the customers you have, i was horrified to witness the shear rudeness and disrespect your poor staff had to endure from a larger capacity table. They were obviously very intoxicated, which each to their own we all like a drink, but it didn’t give them the right to be so disgusting, they were obnoxious and appeared to take pleasure in causing issues and making the poor girl who was serving them very upset and uncomfortable, they were abusive and quite frankly ganged up on her swearing and clearly trying to get her in trouble in order to get money off their food! had my child have not been with me i would have stepped in and made a complaint there and then. The young girl, fair play tried to stand her ground and hold her own in the politest way possible but the abuse she took from these low life individuals was in no doubt upsetting to her, it was upsetting to watch, so i just hope while you cannot control the public, you can control how your staff are treated and i do hope this poor girl was given the support from her management and other staff members because they should have asked to the party to leave so everyone else was...

Popped in here as it was close to the hotel and looked a decent place to eat

Place itself is well presented, clean and bright. It's also family friendly.

Service cannot be faulted as no matter what it is done with a smile, however all of the above are let down by the food.

I ordered the ribs as a starter whilst the wife ordered the mushrooms. When the ribs arrived they were a mixture of tepid and stone cold. I took them to the manager and explained I like my food hot to which I got a sorry we'll sort it.

I was told it would be another 5 mins as they had to cook fresh which initself must be a record for fresh ribs. Sure enough approx 5 mins later ribs arrived. This time they were red hot as was the plate which to me meant they've been microwaved to destruction.

My main wasn't much better either.

As a side order I chose Tiger Fries which is a combination of normal fries and sweet potato fries. However when they arrived they were covered in melted cheese that looked more like plastic. The cheese was not listed on the menu as part of tiger fries threfore as a person who has a dairy allergy this was money wasted
