What a hidden gem ! After being seriously let down for a birthday meal somewhere else the night before. I called these guys. The gentleman on the phone was really lovely and accommodating. We arrived to the friendliest of faces and an open type kitchen. The restaurant is small but gorgeous! It has a really warm and personal feel to it. So much nicer than a huge restaurant with no atmosphere. To the menu...wow!!!!! Some gorgeous dishes with fresh local produce. We had the squid, padron peppers and huge king prawns in a chefs homemade spicy sauce. The flavours were incredible. Mains we had a steak which was beautiful and the lobster linguine ...absolutely full of lobster meal! It was the nicest fish dish I've had ! Pud...the chefs mums homemade keylime pie. No words ! This restaurant is just beautiful, the staff are wonderful and the food is unreal. So so glad we managed to get a table. Looking forward to our valentines meal here.

We went out to Marc Pierre's Kitchen in Ramsgate last night and I just wanted to say just how amazing that little restaurant is. Marc went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 5 and was the most wonderful chef and host. The whole team were so incredibly friendly and attentive and the food was out of this world!! Being completely honest -I was a little worried it was going to be a little too fancy for me but even though the food was next level as was the service, i was made to feel at home and incredibly welcomed. I will definitely be recommending the place to visitors and family and will be back real soon myself! Thank you Marc and team for a great culinary birthday experience! (P.s -I can highly recommend the strawberry daiquiri too -but watch out! ...those tasty devils creep up on you 😅)

Prawn Gambas in chilli and garlic was good however main course of halibut fell short. As my wife suffered from gluten asked what it came with and we were told Cous cous. Well that’s glutinous so we asked for vegetables and were told we don’t do them. We were told chips. The halibut came out my wife saw a sauce which was suspect and sent it back. On complaining the owner chef came out and intimidated us at the table refused to take it off the bill despite not eaten it and then shouted to his staff to get ready to call the police. He also shouted at his staff to do things and was quite rude. I have done many reviews but after 300 this is the worst display of hospitality I have ever had. Also when you have bread as a starter you need more than a slither of butter and had to ask three times for more.

The food is average pub quality, if not lower. OK for a casual dinner, but would not recommend because of the staff’s attitude, arrogance and poor service without even wanting to acknowledge it when mentioned.

Very slow and poor service. Eventually the chef came out to take orders (is that even necessary, why were the female waiters only allowed to take drink orders?). When we did order, the chef kept reminding that he is very busy because there is stuff cooking in the kitchen - again why couldn’t the girls do it if you don’t have time?

The chef acted friendly but actually arrogant and pushy, giving us non-choices that pushed us towards what HE thinks we should eat.

Funnily being a ‘proper’ French restaurant, as the chef claims, the food all came out at different times. Starters took more than 30 mins to arrive, with different items arriving more than 15 mins apart. Same goes for the main course, some of our group finished eating before others got their food, which we had no choice because they were also 15-30mins apart. For the sharing dish, the extra plate never arrived despite us reminding the staff. I am sorry but ‘having a lot of food made freshly on-premise therefore very busy and cannot garantee service’ is a laughable, childish and frankly, pathetic excuse.

We wanted some seafood but the kids just wanted some pasta so we tentatively asked (before we ordered the waiters did say ‘the chef will sort something out based on what they like’). Instead we got a lecture from the chef for this being a French restaurant. He in the end pushed us to order his only item for kids (without us even consenting, he already confirmed the choice for us by nodding decidedly to the staff taking notes). This turned out to be some not-very-fresh seabass. No wonder he wanted these taken off his hands!

At the time of paying the bill the waiter kindly reminded us that service charge was not included. They seemed shocked when we said we’d rather not pay it, as they eagerly reminded us the second time. I tried to explain why but never once got to finish my point before I was rudely interrupted. They didn’t seem interested in listening but only really cared about the service charge, which the last time I checked was discretionary in this country. In the end I got challenged by the chef himself, and was asked to repeat everything I said again to him (why the waiter was incapable of relaying some simple points is beyond me, maybe she did not listen in the first place, or thought they had not wasted enough time by the slow service?) but frankly I felt threatened and just wanted to pay and leave.

Anybody who thinks this restaurant is any good should go out more. I have never had worse service. That includes the restaurant staff themselves, just go to London and see how a real restaurant...

Not the best experience. Wobbly too small a table for two. Sat on a very uncomfortable pew in the window. Numb arse in no time. Very cafe, not restaurant.

No oysters, crab, monkfish or lobster available.

Gin served in Tanquary branded glasses, very pub, not restaurant, tacky. And very overpriced.

Bread came, butter too hard to spread. Next a hummus dish, had to request cutlery, why should I have to? Hummus fine, flatbread not so good.

Skate wing, served on a cold plate and not too tasty.

Sirloin steak. Horrendous presentation. Thin slab of a steak draped over most of the chips. Steak was large in surface area, but thin as a frozen burger. I asked for rare, it was medium, and tasted simply of ground pepper, no juice. And as it was chucked on top of everything else it was difficult to cut. Plate was not warmed.

Chips, pretty tasteless, no crispness at all, soggy under the steak. Should be served separately, salad was pointless.

Chimichurri....Not good, not vibrant, far too much oil. A small bowl of tabouleh would be far better and tasty.

The whole mix, chucked on a single plate, unnacceptable. We did not bother with desert.

I'm neither overly fussy, or biased, I just expect good quality at an acceptable price. Wetherspoons is better value, for pub fare which is the standard we had, and far more comfortable.

Quality is a "A measure of goodness", its nothing to do with luxury.

I have eaten far better chips from a chip shop, and I find it very difficult to describe the steak as such, more like a peppery schnitzel.

Menu is overpriced for the standards received on this specific individual occassion. Wines and spirits likewise.

Local competition either Italian or East Asian both provided a substantially better experience in dining out. It's a shame, I'm sure the potential is there, but we will not return. Staff are friendly, we paid and left...

So I was excited by the menu. 2 of my all time favourite things calamari and civiche were on there. We also ordered prawns and padron peppers.

The prawn gambas was an interesting variation, in a broth that I would have associated more with beef flavours it actually worked well an we enjoyed it.

Then came the calamari, advertised as melt in your mouth it did anything but. It was tough and rubbery so I told the waitress I wasn't happy. THEN the arrogant chef stormed out of the kitchen to practically yell at us in front of the rest of the customers telling us everyone in the kitchen had tried it and it wasn't tough or rubbery, I had no idea what I was talking about and although the customer is always right I was wrong. I have never had such an abrupt and rude interruption to my meal. Also I have never sent calamari back before. He did later come out to try and smooth things over but at this point the meal was ruined and we were left feeling very awkward.

This was a shame because the civivhe was delicious. A combination of diffrent citrus made a refreshing and diffrent take to what I expected.

Finally he had a regular customer in who obviously took offence to the fact one dish wasn't cooked right and proceeded for the rest of our meal to shout at the top of there voice about how delicious the Mackerel was to which the chef rewarded her with another free plate. As if I was on a school playground surrounded by a group of bullies.

The waitress was lovely and professional. Shame the chef...
