Avoid totally if you have dietary requirements.
I placed a takeaway order and specifically asked when doing so whether the food chosen was vegan, and more importantly whether it was free of nuts & coconut because of an allergy. I was told it was fine. On getting it home, one of the dishes turned out to be yoghurt based (I should probably have Googled each before ordering, but trusted what I was told). My wife called to double check what from the order we could eat, and was first told everything else was fine, but when she questioned further they admitted the bhajis have egg in... Staff were also quite rude and dismissive to her on the phone, and eventually hung up.
With two known fails on the vegan front and faced with a wall of what must have been one of incompetence or dishonesty, there was no way we could risk the allergy by trusting information about nuts & coconut. They absolutely refused to consider a refund, and kept playing the "not my fault because you spoke to my...
Read moreVery expensive. Too many dishes on menu. Suggests same tasting food. Raita was very poorly made and sweet. Who makes it sweet? Portions of starters were small, lukewarm and all meat coated red. I've eaten in dozens of indian restaurants and this was poor. Not sure what region food is from as many dishes from different countries. Not just one. Sat down for 1 minute and waiter starts asking about order. Takes 10 minutes to work through an unnecessarily long menu!. Meat wasn't prepared properly. Should fall off the bone. Was very chewy where either meat is old or not cooked properly. Not impressed. No halal signs in window or on epic menu. Maybe locals think this is good because of limited Indian restaurants but believe me, this is poor. And more expensive than many London restaurants. I know. I've tried many. Expensive wouldn't be so bad if it was tasty. Food had a similar, bland taste. I left unable to finish food and still hungry. Once for this...
Read moreHave been going here for years with no problems but after ordering the Vegetarian Thali to take away (stating several times we were vegan so to swap the raita for extra popadoms) We opened it up and dished it up, started biting it to realise that it had chunks of lamb, we scraped it in the bin except for the lamb bits which I returned to the restaurant the next day and insisted on getting my £27 back for the full meal. (It ruined our night and 2 of our guests have been vegan for over 50 years and suffered from a stomach upset for days). The manager wanted to argue with me (he had apologised to my husband on the phone the day before) but wouldn't apologise to me and didn't want to refund me the whole amount.... Terrible, arrogant attitude, no wonder his staff aren't friendly or happy. I won't be setting foot in there again as I have no trust in them any more. I did eventually get a refund for the full amount but shouldn't have had to get so...
