The Bryn-Y-Mor — Restaurant in Wales

We booked for Sunday lunch here as a group of 11 on arriving at the pub the tables were all separate. We asked if we could put them together and they said yeah, this was just the beginning of a terrible experience. When booking we had said we were booking for Sunday dinner, they had no Sunday dinners left at 6pm no explanation given! One of our group ordered a red wine and a white wine was brought out, was fixed fairly quickly. We ordered our food and was told it would be brought out separately which was fine as we were having drinks. As the food started coming out it was disappointing. Steaks cooked badly and missing sides on 3 of the meals. When bringing this to the waitresses attention she was so rude huffing and puffing like we were a major inconvenience to her. The worst part was when one of the group started eating her vegetarian mushroom pie to find chicken in it. She was obviously very upset by this and brought this to the attention of the waitress who just took it away did not apologise at all. My friend had to go up to the bar and ask for a refund as she was to upset to let them cook her another and as she was the last one to be served an hour and half after the first person's food had arrived. The ones who did get there correct food all agreed the food was 'okay' in future I won't bother visiting a green king pub as the customer service is horrific and so is the food! 1 member of staff really couldn't be bothered especially when we said we were having difficulties with downloading the app. 1 of our group only had cash & no mobile phone & his attitude was 'tough luck' & it wasn't as if he was busy as the place was empty! A different member of staff came to our rescue & was apparently new to the app himself but tgankfully helped 3 of our party but it spoilt the first 15 minutes of our get together as we were all concentrating on our mobiles. Also the app is supposed to help with social distancing but the poor staff member who helped us had to come closer to us (to use our mobiles) than he would if he had just physically taken our orders. None of us could get the track & trace to work & we told the staff this & nothing was done about it, even after us asking couldn't we give details on pen & paper. Makes you wonder what...

This is a greene king pub, so it obviously has a big chain behind it. The food was as expected. I had a mixed grill and asked for a medium steak, which is exactly what I got. So hats of to the chef there. One of the problems is that no matter how well you cook the stea, it is the underlying meat that counts!! Let you read into that! My Partner had a pie and commented how good the crust was.

The host at the bar was attentive and appeated good at her job and was definitely working hard. You can't ask for more than that from your staff.

The downside was the aesthetics, fixtures and fittings which were all very tired and in need of some tlc. The seating was badly worn and they whole place was a a but dingy and in need of a good...
