Would have give 2½ stars but you can't do ½ star so given it a 3. Absolutely gutted to have had to give this place such a low score because we had heard great things about the food here!! It was not great! My partner and I called in here on Wednesday 1st June for lunch and a drink. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who asked us to look at the menu and then order our food & drinks at the bar. Decided on our meals and ordered. Drinks quite pricey! A ginger beer and pint of Carling was £7!! Food arrived, I ordered Cod & Chips, my partner had the Beef dinner. Cod was good size and batter was light, chips were OK and good size portion of mushy peas. My partners food was awful though!! Beef was so grissely you could barely chew it, carrots were disgusting, spongey and had a really strange taste, sweed came cubed not mashed and were solid, Roast Potatoes were so salty. Gravy was already on the food, not served in a boat and was lumpy and far too salty! My partner was only able to eat her boiled potatoes, cabbage and yorkshire pudding, after she scraped off the gravy! Her dinner was inedible! Her dinner cost £8.99 and was disgusting. My partners plate was almost as full when we left as when it was served!! Won't spend our money here again. The place wasn't even busy, at the time, apart from the 2 of us, only 3 other people were eating, so it can't be blamed on that! Extremely disappointed, what a waste of money!!
