We came on a Friday and were seated in a minute, it was quite warm so it would've been nice if there was air conditioning. we understand this is an Italian restaurant but we feel like there could be English menus aswell and we could only tell what something was by reading under the top writing, the napkins weren't great, and the food took about 50 minutes which was surprising since we were the only ones there, and was surprised to find that the pasta's were actually a bit cold when we'd gotten them. A worker there had come to collect the board the garlic bread was on and my knife was still on it so he'd grabbed it to put it on the table and very close to the cutting part so I didn't want to use it after that, the same worker was quite rude aswell. I ordered pasta and meatballs, Pane e aglio pizza (garlic bread), the pasta with meatballs wasn't good the meatballs were crumbly and the pasta was very big and didn't have any flavour, the garlic bread was very salty and was bad. One ordered carbonara pasta, Pane e aglio, and said the carbonara pasta was good, and the garlic bread was yummy but was really cold. And the other ordered carbonara pasta, and had some garlic bread, she said the pasta was really good and the garlic bread was nice. We were going to have dessert but decided not to since it was already a bad experience. Definitely not going...
Read moreWhat a delightful authentic Italian restaurant. It’s our second time dining at Ciao Bella Swansea. It’s an undiscovered little gem. Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere (you feel like you’re dining in Italy) and of course the very friendly, attentive hard working staff. We all ordered different things, but started with the Antipasto Misto and a bottle of Prosecco to share, whilst we discussed our menu options. For starters we ordered Calamari Fritti and the Arancine balls. For main course Lasagna, Pizza and the amazing Cacciucco (fish stew with monk fish and lots of other delights of the sea). All the food was outstanding, very fresh ingredients, a home made feel to everything. A special note also to the drinks, the Poretti is served very cold in the branded glass and the Pinot at the perfect temperature in a large glass. This might sound obvious, but some of the establishments in Swansea can learn a lot from the attention to detail at this fabulous restaurant. We loved it and will...
Read moreThe food here is delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it, but the kitchen area is tiny (up a few stairs from the restaurant and clearly visible) with only 2 chefs in there. There were only 2 staff in covering the restaurant and the bar and we were waiting a long time to order, then between courses. The washing up area is in the basement and the 2 staff were running up and down the stairs getting pans from the kitchen to take down to wash, then return to the kitchen. I appreciate that money would need to be spent to make this a more streamlined and aesthetic process, but the food is really good and being able to serve more of it in a shorter timespan would be really good and beneficial to all! Our meal lasted a lot longer than it should have, but most of that time was waiting for service and between courses. To the owners I would say you're sitting on a little goldmine, it just needs to be managed/arranged better. The waitresses were very pleasant...
