So I just ordered food about an hour ago and finished it tender strips beautiful xl burger beautiful and chips pretty good. Can I just say it’s very nice to have normal food that isn’t complicated strips with no crust burgers with no batter or coatings just nice old fashioned chicken meat marinated and cooked very rare to find this in Cardiff 10/10 in every way will be coming back. My biggest issue is the chicken strips I ordered the lean strips and asked for lemon and lime flavouring but despite this there is still spice embedded into the strip so you might as well have spicy strips. If your going to do this you need to state is legally because those who are unaware and allergic will suffer. In the uk strips are chicken batter and crust no more so if a person has a severe reaction to this it makes the shop liable for damages. Hence 3/5 stars. The online partial negative is no “option” for crust and other ingredients providing variety is key no customer is the same and therefore neither should the menu be. All maybe adding stuff like sausage (turkey chicken beef) or turkey bacon etc. I recommend to all not just students who are looking for tasty lean food no frying etc. I would also like to add comments about false information provided by one user “Ahmad Ali” that is not “rotten lettuce” that is dehydrated lettuce if that’s true well McDonald’s has been serving “rotten lettuce” since my childhood. While the mayo missing is understandable if it were true I CAN SEE MAYO ON THE BOTTOM SIDE and left side of the burger ! And the right side on the tomato are you telling me you ordered a burger they put mayo on it and wiped it off ? No looks to me like you wiped it off did a lazy job of it to give a false review. I can also see multiple users who have “arab” like names on their account giving 1 star reviews for wait times ? Funnily enough I know multiple food stores around this shop are owned by “arabs” I wonder if they’re giving 1 star reviews to sabotage their neighbouring...
Read moreThis evening around 11pm I went to pepes to order my food(order no. A 38) as I took my card out to pay the worker had seen the cash in my wallet and said it's cash only when I replied I need my cash for somthing else and I prefer to pay via card he refused my request and told me the card machine is broke & its been sent back to be repaired. As I reluctantly paid by cash and sat down, a man & lady came in and placed their order, the lady got her phone out to make the payment where then the worker pulled out the card machine from under the counter to take payment. I found this disgusting the way I had been lied to expecially as card/contactless is the preferred method of payment due to covid. I got up & walked up to the counter and confronted the worker asking for what reason did he lie to me and refused me the card machine and told me it had been sent away for a repair. He had no answer and tried to avoid any eye contact whilst stood there looking silly, at this moment he's trying to act as if he cannot understand me but he clearly speaks English because he took my order. The reason for my complaint is because I have been treated differently to the next customer and to be lied to in a food establishment by a well known franchise does not give you much confidence at all. I requested for a full refund & told them to cancel my order I felt like they were taking me for a mug. They have been known for refusing card and when making phone orders they say cash only, I have known people to moan about this but they don't make a formal complaint, but experiencing this first hand inthe way that I did is such an inconvenience in this day & age its ridiculous. I have just looked at other reviews and I can see that other customers are complaining about the same thing, I intend to take my complaint...
Read moreMade me sick! Worst experience from a takeaway ever! Firstly, I ordered through Uber eats tonight at 20:01 and received the flattened, cold food at 21:38. I'm not sure if that was down to Uber or Pepes. I think our food was probably sat there for a while. The chips were inedible as they were cold. The drinks and my chicken quesadilla were luke warm and out of hunger, I started eating the quesadilla. I got half way through before spotting a long hair sticking out. Well I think I have lost a stone in vomit. I called Pepes and spoke to a polite lady who apologised straight away and gave me her personal WhatsApp number to send over pics. Within 5 minutes, she called and advised on behalf of her manager who apologised, she could offer me the food for free if I go back on Uber Eats and just order a sauce. I explained that I had been sick and did not want any food. Plus it is late. She explained it was the hair from the food brush they use to coat the chicken in sauce. I hope it is and not something else. She said I could go in another day and get 50% off. I explained that I will not be going back. Our food has gone in the bin and I would like a refund. She muted the call, I guess to liaise with her boss. However, she apologised again and advised that was all she could offer. I understand that accidents happen. Luckily, it wasnt a serious one. But this has been handled poorly. I will never eat from Pepes again. Check your food...
