Stopped in by chance really, because we got a parking space and had some business across the street. Were really happy we did. Coffees were large, decor is literally funky - Motown album art on the walls and a back wall is a giant graffiti gorilla telling you to try the buttermilk pancakes. Haha. Service just great - welcomed, sit anywhere. However the star was the food. Partner had the full English which looked beautiful and bountiful, and I had medium rare steak and poached eggs. Menu said 6 ounce rump steak, and I expected a small steak that would be on the tough side but it arrived beautifully tender, seasoned and cooked well. We both enjoyed the hash browns which were crunchy outside and fluffy inside and not your usual. The poached eggs were also great, with just enough hollandaise to make them indulgent. Would be great to go again and would even pay to...

Called in for lunch with friends on a Saturday afternoon in March 2025, as a first time visitor.

The place was clean and nicely laid out, and we were greeted on arrival with a friendly smile from the staff.

Staff were polite and we didn’t feel rushed at any point, even though we took our time perusing the drinks and food menus, and as it wasn’t overly busy the atmosphere was relaxed and really made for a good experience. The menu offered a good choice and there were several things each of us would have had, including a vegetarian in the party. I ordered the double beefburger and a classic cocktail – neither of them disappointed: the burger was incredibly juicy and the cocktail was delicious being well made and at a good price. The other three diners also gave high praise to their food and drinks.

Would highly recommend, and will definitely...

Not being dramatic when I say this was the nicest roast I’ve ever had.

We phoned at half four to see if they had space and they fit us in for five. Was busy enough when we arrived so there was a nice little buzz.

Pictured is a children's roast for myself as I don’t have a full sized stomach, and my partners normal roast. I had chicken, he had beef. I appreciated that there were no questions asked when I ordered from the children’s menu as some places refuse and I have to explain the medical aspect which is often uncomfortable. All of the meat was cooked to perfection. Every aspect of the dishes was literally spot on. Spoken to friends since who have all said how lovely the rest of the menu is so I’ll definitely be going back to try more.

Atmosphere was lovely, great ambience. Staff all friendly and helpful. Perfect Sunday...
