Sunday morning, came to Broadway to take the dogs for a walk and grab a coffee. Thought we’d try Hunters Tea Room as it looked inviting from outside and we’d never tried it before.
The design inside is really well put together with a merge of a modern and traditional tea room. With four dogs, we headed for the garden area at the back where we found a mix of shaded and an unshaded seating on comfortable garden furniture.
Inside by the till there is a great selection of cakes and bakes that you won’t see on the menu, but we opted for a couple of cappuccinos, a pot of tea, pain au chocolat and a croissant.
It was a fairly busy morning, but the drinks came out quickly, followed shortly after by the croissants. This is where it got a little disappointing, the drinks were pretty average and the croissants had that limp stretchy feel they get when you take a good croissant and blast it in the microwave, one of them looked a little sorry for itself, having imploded a little losing that voluminous shape that is one of signs of a good croissant and part of the pleasure of eating.
Overall, it was really pleasant and for that reason worth another visit, just maybe not for croissants.

Read moreSimply enough, it wasn't the amount of food I would expect. Maybe that's on us for not really understanding the role of a tea room in the Cotswolds. Regardless my sandwich was a size that would be a decent enough lunch for a very young child. To elaborate the salad alongside the sandwich was comprised of; 3 quarters of a single slice of cucumber, 3 halves of two cherry tomatoes, and a couple of mixed leaf salad leaves (less than a handful). I apologize for such a review it really was just a disappointing serving for me and my two friends, each having a sandwich each for lunch. On the plus side, A massive positive in my opinion if you're looking for a small bite, there was courtyard seating available and it was a really pleasant place to sit (well decorated with flowers...
Read moreSmall cosy place, food decent, staff acted a little strange.
When we first got there, staff didn't seem to know what a baby was. Weren't very helpful or forthcoming on saying where we could put a pram, which table we could sit at etc. The first thing that was said was you can't put your pram there it is in front of the cakes..which I hadn't noticed until she said. Didn't smile, seemed a bit annoyed we were there. Would say you couldn't get more than one pram in this place. But eventually the staff helped with the above. Came and took order, didn't have brown bread or certain cheeses. Which seemed a bit strange for lunchtime, but not the end of the world for myself, might bother others. Food came fairly quick, was decent quality. Overall would...
