So very disappointed. Visited on Bank Holiday Monday with family of 5 adults & 2 children under 5 years of age. We were all able to share a table outside. My daughter qued for food in the non existent social distancing que, no track & trace in place at the time. She was informed there would be a 45 minute wait which in itself was fine so she placed and paid for her food order. I was directly behind her in the queue when a member of staff told me the kitchen was not taking any orders for another 20 minutes due to being overwhelmed. Even though I explained we were all together on one table, they still didn't accept my order. As my daughter had already paid I decided to wait the 20 minutes and was told to return to place my order. 20 minutes passed and I returned to order once again to be informed the kitchen was closed full stop. Absolutely disgusted that we were not able to eat with our party. In hindsight my daughter should have cancelled her order. When their food arrived 90 minutes later a local couple sat down on the adjacent table and were served a roast dinner!!!! Very odd when the kitchen was supposedly closed! We will never return to this pub to eat again, such a shame as we are moving to the area and were looking for a local pub with a...
Read moreWitnessed very mean treatment of a young mother and baby.
We visited the pub last weekend and as the rugby was on in the bar (no seats) we sat in the restaurant. Food and service were fine/average.
As we were finishing our meal, a young woman came in with a dog and a young baby. As there were no seats in the bar she came into the restaurant.
The landlady bustled over and told her no dogs in the restaurant (there was no sign to say this). The young woman said okay and took her dog out.
About 10 minutes later she came back in without her dog and sat down at a table with her baby. The landlady rushed back over and said "you can't sit in here with those muddy boots, it's a restaurant" and stormed off.
I felt so sorry for the poor young woman, whose baby was crying by then. She had to strap the poor thing back into her sling and leave again.
Why the landlady couldn't have told her about the dog and the boots at the same time, and in a more polite way, I don't know.
Very mean and...
Read moreWe did a Charity Walk in the Cotswolds for Cancer Research, as soon as we walked in we were not made feel welcome at all, it was 14.30pm and we sat down at a table, the pub wasnt too busy and there was plenty of tables inside to sit at, firstly we were told that the outdoor seating space was very busy which was incorrect as there was plenty of seating spaces and secondly at the table where myself and 2 of my friends were sitting the lady came and put a reserved sign down telling us that the table was reserved for 15.00pm! I am sorry but this seemed like a clear indication to state we were clearly not welcome! When all the walkers eventually gathered together we all sat outside as there was ample seating, I went back in at 15.00pm and at 16.00pm to check if our table was reserved and nobody came, I feel that it was simply a indication for us to leave! 80% of us are Asian, say no more! Staff and owner read up on the...
