Frank's Pizza — Restaurant in Aberdeen

10/19/2022 UPDATE: I have returned to Franks 10 months later and can say that a lot has improved. I was able to call the store and someone actually answered. The walls appear to have been repainted, the store looked cleaner. I did not see any of the same tiny black flying bugs. The staff seemed larger and more energetic. I requested special instructions for my order, and the staff prepared everything as requested. I see that they now have name brand chips (HERR'S). There were some other minor areas that could be improved, but great work! Original Review (10 months ago):

When I first started working in Aberdeen, MD back in 2016, this place was my “go to” for pizza and cheesesteaks. Recently it seems like this place is always closed for extended periods, staff appears to be significantly shorter, the quality of food and service does not seem to be as great as it once was.

When I place online orders, the fulfilled order is either incorrect, missing items, or not as requested, so I usually have to check my bags before I leave the store which is inconvenient.

I request my French fries to be cooked soft, and they always make them the way they want to make them, and it be overcooked and hard, my cheesesteak now days seem to not even have much meat inside, and this place used to sell chips. The chips were never popular tasty name brands, but at least they had chips, now they don’t even sell chips.

I tried calling in my order a few times and the phones just rang and rang with no answer. When I arrived to the store, I explained this to the staff and called the store while in the store, the staff could not figure out why the store phone was not ringing. One of the staff tried calling the store phone with his own phone to verify, and still could not figure it out. This happened on about 3 occasions which was frustrating because it took up a lot of my lunch break from having to wait for my order.

The last time I went to this location on Tuesday November 30, there was an abnormal amount of tiny black flying bugs (gnats) in the store. It was around 35 degrees outside, so it’s a strong indication that the flying bugs are breeding inside the facility due to unsanitary conditions. It made me very uncomfortable eating my pickup order sandwich since there could have been some in the sandwich mixed in with the meat.

I don’t plan to return to this location, but if I do, I hope there are significant...

Not so pleased with our order tonight, but for a fair review I will say we have patroned Franks pizza for quite a few years💛. We received our pizza only 30 minutes after placing an order for 2 XL pizzas, but received 1 XL and 1 LG. One pizza was notably gooey, cheesy, and fresh, while the other was crusty, dark, and clearly had toppings merely placed on top. As we lifted each slice, it became evident the pizza was previously baked and toppings added per our request and reheated.(Not to mention, we initially requested our pizza not to be overcooked). The true disappointment came when I called to get the pizza replaced, my "complaint" was challenged by the owner that he "made the pizza himself, we took to long to pick it up" and lastly that he "wanted the pizza back." I agreed to terms and w/n a little over an hour, we had a replacement pizza delivered(which is understandable bc it is a Saturday night). About 10-15 after getting the new pizza the owner again calls to tell me there is only 2 slices in the box sent back and that means he basically "sent me a free pizza", rather than correcting the less than sub par experience we had w/ our 1st order. Luckily, I took pictures of the 5 untouched slices that my kids had not gotten to before I was able to call..and we had NOT eaten the other 3! Being an honest family, I truly assumed he was calling to follow up with satisfaction and possibly thank us for our patience, and it was quite the opposite. I was spoken to as if I was trying to hustle a free pizza out of the deal rather than just get what was not only expected, but paid for! Imperfections are TOTALLY going to happen, but less than sub par customer service is totally unacceptable! Rather than making nasty phone calls to families, there could be a bit more concentration on the quality of orders! I'm hoping this review is helpful, especially to be specific when ordering, but also re awakens the kind hearted service this local business should...

First time ordering from Frank's and was surprised at how fast it arrived! From reading other reviews I was expecting a longer wait but it arrived within 30 minutes of placing the order. We ordered the 2 extra large pizzas with 2 toppings deal which was more than enough for our family of 4 (we even have leftovers). Normally when we order from other places we do not get a great deal like this as far as number of toppings and size of pizza. The sausage and onions on the first pizza were good. This is real Italian sausage, you can see the fenel seeds. The onions were sliced thin and were soft - perfect! Loved the thinner style crust compared to other pizza places in Maryland. The crust is similar to NY/NJ style. Only problem we had was with the 2nd pizza which had extra cheese and had tilted during transportation causing the cheese to slide down to one side. The center piece had fallen over too. It was like a cheese landslide! Also it wasn't cut well so we had to work at reassembling it and cutting it. I think it went into the delivery bag too hot and somehow tilted on way over. Regardless, we will be ordering again from Frank's! Highly recommend for that NY/NJ...
