Update June 2024
some of the partners retired, Toi is still here and she's great! She is courteous and can recommend products based on taste preference.
The Bangkok duck with #3 spicy (nice bite but not burning, for those who like spicy) is my fave. They also have chicken curry. I order extra sauce on the side and dip my veggies in it. Yum
The kids love the chicken satay with fried rice.
Spring roll is yum too

I was excited to try this place, the smell from outside was very appetizing.
Food Taste was very good though I've never had a Fresh (spring, ) roll that had red onions in it. The 2 duck dishes we ordered was pretty tasty The pineapple rice was for 2 pax size The noodle dish was kinda small for what we expected with only some shrimps for that price. The rice that came with the duck was very small versus other places so had to order extra rice.
Ambiance Old tables and chairs, but acceptable. Upholstery needs to be replaced at the booth seats.
Seemed pricey ($133+) for the things we ordered for 4 adults basically. I might've been ok with it had they been nice, but they were not.
CON 1st - the 2 older gals seemed welcoming when there was just 4 of us, but when I said group of 7, one got rattled as if they've never had people coming in.
2nd - if you have a child, this place not the best place to go. One of the older gals was very rude to my husband and son. Yes, he's not quiet but neither was the place quiet nor was he being unruly just chatty and stayed in his seat the whole time.
I didn't realize what she did till after we left, my husband was uncomfortable the entire time but didn't want to make a spectacle. We were with another couple and their child, having a good day.
I normally take pics of food ordered, but since we were with friends, I didn't whip...
Read moreThis was our second time eating at Thai Orchid. We had been debating on where to go, we have about a 40 minute drive. I was looking forward to Thai all day. We waited forever for our food, they seemed to have quite a few takeout orders, plus the entire dining room was served before us. This is fine, as we understand the industry and staffing issues, however our server seemed annoyed when we ordered an additional meal to go before our food came out. We had planning to put in the to go order when the food came out but we were concerned about timing. The server was very short with us, she didn’t ask about the spice for our entrees, both were very mild. The food was mediocre, I had the red curry, which was okay, my husband had the ginger sauce, which was not very good. The server did not check on us until we were finished with our food. I couldn’t even ask for hot pepper sauce because we were completely ignored. When she brought our Togo order and check she would not look at us and rolled her eyes at me turning away from my husband. I am not sure what we did, she was very nice and friendly to the table next to us. But this experience completely ruined our night. We will not be back.
On the other hand the younger woman working the front and the young man delivering the food were both very nice. It was only the older woman serving us that completely...
Read moreI hate to give a one star review because my family and I have been coming to Thai Orchid for decades, but they have changed for the worse. I cannot tolerate any discrepancies with food safety, so this is why I am giving them one star.
I was enjoying my takeout dinner from them tonight at my home, and then suddenly felt something hard and pointed in my mouth. Hoping it was just a piece of stiff lemongrass, I tried to chew it but it would not soften…so I decided to spit it out and thank goodness I did. It was a long strand of steel wool! Can you imagine if I had swallowed this, I easily could have choked to death. To add to the horrific nature of this incident, I was home alone when this happened, so my choices would be to call for an ambulance and be unable to speak because there is a piece of steel wool lodged in my throat, or try to drive myself to the hospital while choking. I will absolutely not be returning - one strike and you are OUT when it comes to endangering your patrons lives with gross negligence. If you choose to go to this place, diner beware - is it really good enough to risk...
