Absolutely incredible! Worth the 20 minute drive for a cake of the quality we received. Nothing special...birthday cake for the wife. Her favorite flavors are lemon, cheesecake, and strawberry. They did a lemon cake with strawberry filling layers, and a cream cheese icing. Beautiful flower decorations. 8" cake, custom made, I think it was around 30 bucks or so. I questioned it being small...they said it serves eight. Let me tell you...easily could have served 12 or 14! Also got some danishes....wife said they were awesome for breakfast next morning. If I could give six stars I would. Let me add that I called on a Thursday around noon, and was able to pick it up two days later. Incredible service, he listened, made suggestions, and created not only something that looked great...but tasted absolutely incredible! I run a bakery in Ohio and was asked by a customer to send buckeyes (chocolate and peanut butter candy) to a friend in Pinehurst, NC. It's 80 degrees here in Ohio and in NC, so shipping chocolate would literally be a hot mess! I searched the internet for bakeries near where the customer wanted the buckeyes sent, and found G. Charles Bakery. I was planning on just ordering some chocolate cupcakes or something he had readily available. When I explained to him my situation, he agreed to make the buckeyes for me/my customer using my recipe, and he arranged to have them delivered. WOW! Gary went way over and above to provide exceptional customer service and definitely exceeded my expectations. He even sent pictures to me so I could see how they turned out. They were perfect! He really saved the day. I told him to save that recipe for any Ohio-transplants that come into his bakery. ;) Go give this local bakery...

They are totally unprofessional. I ordered customized birthday cake for my kid, two weeks in advance and on the delivery date they told that they forgot to make one as they promised. Imagine you have 30 guests at home, you have decorations and you don't have cake and you got pathetic service. On top of that, as an apology, they gave us some complimentary birthday cake and cup cakes, which were very low poor quality cakes. I was more heartbroken than my kid. Nowadays where cake making is well advanced, they are still in Jurassic era. They are unable to make simple designs. Never ever order customs cake unless it's last option you have on planet. G. Charles is highly overrated bakery in town. Better not to have cakes rather than get it their low...
