You know with certain restaurants comes certain standards/expectations and unfortunately, this Texas Roadhouse lacked all of the above. On 1/2/24 I came to Texas Roadhouse on a double date, thinking we’d be very pleased with what they’re known for (their steaks), however, the food was so below standard it became comical for the table. Firstly, everyone at the table ordered their steaks to be medium but somehow all of our steaks looked completely different (and two were from the same cut). I ordered an 8oz NY strip thick cut: medium, with a sweet potato and mac n cheese. * After I continued to cut into my steak I noticed it was getting more red the more I cut into it. My waitress came to tell me they were working on my mac n cheese and while she was there I asked her what did my steak look like to her and she replied “definitely not medium, it looks rare.” She then took my already cut pieces back to the kitchen to be prepared how I asked. After dropping my food back to the kitchen she came to the table again to deliver the man n cheese and check on the rest of the food. After she left I took a bite of the Mac n cheese and it was COLD. I had my fiancé try it to make sure my tastebuds weren’t off and she also confirmed, it was indeed cold. It tasted as if it was pulled directly from the refrigerator. *this is when the dinner became comical. Not only was I already dealing with a very incorrectly prepared steak, I was also now dealing with mac n cheese that was LATE and COLD. My question was how do you bring a side dish out late and it still be cold?? Nevertheless, the waitress came back with the steak and this time it was to order. I then brought up the Mac n cheese situation and she was actually embarrassed about it. She had her manager stick his finger in the bowl and he was also embarrassed. She then came back to the table to tell me they would take the Mac n cheese off my bill. Fast forward to the bill, the bill still Showed an amount for the Mac n cheese.
Long story short, my waitress was very nice and understanding and I believe she truly had the best intentions for the customer. However, we’re talking about Texas Roadhouse. After numerous issues of quality of food or lack their of, I genuinely expected a visit from the manager and some issue to be resolved. Instead, I got the same steak that had already been incorrectly prepared, and cut by me, thrown back onto the grill, and then served to me again. And to top it off I got the mac n cheese served cold. I don’t want this to be a completely negative review so I will end by saying this: their 20oz handpicked sirloin that my buddy got was absolutely phenomenal. Cooked to perfection. That is the standard and service that should be delivered...
Read moreVery disappointed in the service we received this past Saturday (4/30/22)
1st waited over 20 minutes just to get some rolls and butter after we sat down despite asking 4 times for them. Once I was told there was none available at the moment than saw at least 4 tables being seated with rolls. My daughters drink tasted like straight up syrup. Since our server was horrible at getting me a second glass of sweet tea, we figured it was pointless to try and get a replacement. The 1sr batch of mozz stix we ordered with our drink order finally arrived after I finally got my dinner salad and all the cheese was cooked out of them. We had to stop another server to get new ones. The 2nd batch was ok but they were also overcooked and 1/2 empty of cheese. Asked for a 2nd basket of bread 2 times before finally getting them. When our dinner was delivered my daughter asked for extra dressing and I asked for a 2nd time for more beverage. She got the dressing, no drink. So, I asked again when she brought out the 2nd beer for my daughters boyfriend and still nothing. I finished almost my entire meal and she stopped by the table and I asked again and finally got it. She was not friendly, never smiled and pretty much ignored our table. Other staff members did more for us than she did. I usually tip 20 to 25%. Not even close this time...she could have walked away with over 20.00 for our table, instead she got 3.68. (And only got that much because it rounded the total bill to an even number!) I waited tables for years..NEVER would I have treated a table like she did. We were very nice and patient and not rude. Even my worst customers I would have treated better than she did with us. It felt like we were a bother to her.
Food...mozz stix issues, mashed potatoes were cold and my daughters drink tasted horrible. Bad experience here AGAIN.
The other time was during the whole shut down. Ordered a bunch of meals to go. (7 adult and 2 kids meals) 2 meals were missing the sides, 1 kids meal missing the side, they were out of the beverage we chose for the kids and they replaced it with something else without letting is know or asking what we like to replace it with. Ordered 24 rolls, got 12. Asked for extra cinnamon butter, got a total of 2 butter for the 12 rolls.
I said then I was not going back here I should have kept my word. I have wasted enough money on this place I will NOT be back. I love Texas Roadhouse but instead of Aberdeen location I'll be visiting the Holly Springs one from now on. Never had any issues there. The drive is only an extra 5 minutes...
Read moreWe drove 40 minutes, planned, did the call ahead on the website for my Son-in-law’s birthday dinner. We had a party of 10 and the website wouldn’t let you reserve for 10, so we did a 6 person and 4 person reservation. (They were not answering the phone when we called). We were scheduled for 5pm because with a party of 10, you should eat early. When we arrived early to check-in, the hostess said she could combine it to one reservation of 10 and give us two big tables in a corner (we were number 2 and 4 in-line). We agreed. We waited another 45 minutes to be seated at table with an extension and a 2 person booth across. When we told them we (all 10 of us which included a toddler and baby) wouldn’t physically fit. They went and got the manager (Michael), he came and said because the booth is rated for the 6 of “AVERAGE American” and we should fit, nevermind that we didn’t. Did I mention there was a table right behind the big table that was empty and clean with no one occupying it?? When asked if we could just have the two big tables so we would fit, he said no because it was already on the list to the next people waiting (no one was at the table). To the manager named Michael at Texas Roadhouse in Aberdeen NC, you should be ashamed of yourself. To try and shame people to make them fit into a space that physically doesn’t work because it’s rated for 6 of the “AVERAGE” American and only offer to put us at the bottom of the list of 40 people waiting after we already waited over 45 minutes and calling ahead. Then, he shrugged his shoulders and walked off.
We decided to make it work, we asked for a chair and a high chair. We got the high chair and was told we couldn’t have another chair because it would block the aisle and it would be against fire code. We decided to leave.
While walking out, I noticed most of the people in those rated “AVERAGE AMERICAN” 6 people booths were only 4 or 5 and some of those 5 including a chair at the end of the table. The only 6 ones were with children who didn’t need a booster or had high chairs at the end.
Michael has terrible customer service with no strategic skills. You were unprofessional, rude, and ruined our birthday dinner. You need more training on how to talk to people, strategic solutions, and customer service. Managerial training needs to be revamped if this is your standard.
So for those who aren’t the “AVERAGE” size American beware, Michael will “FAT” shame so he...
