We had the most amazing experience at Longhorn 5265 today! We recently started an extremely strict diet. Fortunately one of the items we can eat are steakšš. We do not possess the skills of the grill unfortunately, so after a week of only chicken we needed a break. So as we looked at our options of locations to get a yummy steak we chose Longhorn. Now the menu showed us options we are able to have BUT we know that everything they cook is covered in butter...BIG No No for our diet. We get to Longhorn dreading that we would be the worst customers on the planet because we were going to "we can't have this, or that, or the other" We arrive, we are told 30 min wait. OK. As we sit there we are making sure we are ready to order what on the menu is simple...the Renegade Sirlon with a salad and another Renegade Sirlon with steamed Asparagus and add the optional lobster tail. OH...with NO butter on ANYTHING!!! They call us, we are ready, get comfy in our booth. Here comes Christa M at Longhorn 5265. We start off by letting her know we were going to be "that customer" and we apologized ahead of time. We always sit on the same side of the booth so Christa M sits down across from us and calmly says, "I will do what i can, what do you need from me" She was so sweet, understanding, patient,and accommodatable. We let her know we could not have any oils or fats and to cook our food without butter or oils and that for my salad could i have straight white vinegar (menu has white vinaigrette) she was like if i can find i can do it and that ordering our entrĆ©es without butter or oil would be no problem. She was great throughout the entire meal. Toward the end of our dinner we let her know how wonderful she was and she turned it back to a positive to us...saying she admired our ability to stay on such a restricting diet. We let her know that her flexibility definitely helped. She had a bad day yesterday she told us. We pray that this review and our experience with her this evening helps bring positivity to her day! We are living in a stressful time where restaurants as well as other businesses have to close early due to lack of staff. Our waiter was very unattentive. He took forever to return to out table for us to order yet he was taking orders from people who came well after us. If he wasn't at the bar mixing a million drinks, he was off in the corner socializing with co-workers or texting for very long periods of time. Forget about refills on drinks because he barely came around. Our order was wrong and the lady that brought it out wasn't our waiter and she was uninterested in the mix-up. Acted as if we were bothering her and with plenty of attitude, asked us to remove the items on our plate that were wrong and put it in the appetizer plate so she can "swap it out'. I refused and said if if I have to pay more to keep it, I don't want to start picking a part my plate, I just want the sides I was supposed to get separately. She snatched the appetizer plate from me and I questioned her asking did you just snatch that and she said "do you want me to get your food or not". That made me so angry and turned me OFF but my husband insisted I be quiet because she still has to bring me my food. They bring the items separately and wrong again ... This time stating that it's not their fault it's the kitchen so "what do I want them to do". I just gave in and ate what was in front of me because all this time I'm waiting on the sides to be correct, my already horrible steak is just getting colder. I ordered a medium steak and this steak was very well done and dry.
The utensils were FILTHY!!!! Along with the appetizer plates that had FOOD on them yuck.
I ALWAYS look at reviews before I go anywhere and majority of the reviews here were bad but I assumed people were just being picky or that their situations weren't too serious but nope true to the reviews the service here sucks. I feel foolish too because my husband wanted to go to outback and I was the one insisting we try something new. Now I see we should've stuck to what we already know.
And with all of that, like the good patron I am, I STILL gave a tip. After leaving I thought how foolish of me to tip them after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is our third visit to this location. The first two visits were great. Service was spot on (even with one of those being a brand new waiter) and food was awesome.
Unfortunately, last nights experience was horrible. First we got on the wait list and was told it would be 45-60 minutes so we killed time then returned. When we returned the parking lot was empty and we saw several groups leave so we called in and were told we werenāt checked in even though we had the text showing we were. After we get checked in again we waited an additional 10 minutes then get text to go in. We then go to the hostess desk they donāt have us listed, the restaurant is wide open for seating so the wait didnāt make sense.
Now that we are seated the waitress comes and gets our order. 2 sodas, an appetizer, steaks with add ons and sides. 1 adjustment to the sides due to both health and religious reasons (no bacon). App came out Luke warm. Drinks took forever for refills. Steaks were burned. Shrimp was greasy. And bacon was not removed.
The waitress was only involved in taking the order and getting paid, even though she had plenty of time to have full conversations with the table adjacent to us. The food that was brought out was by a different person each time.
Now we get done with this mess with now one of us sick due to the bacon and are leaving and the two people at the to-go table are kicked back so much they look like they are asleep or just donāt care.
This is the worst service Iāve had at any restaurant in a long time.
UPDATE Management provided my fiancƩ and I with a gift card to come back. We went in tonight (4/17/21) and ordered the same thing to get an apples to apples view.
Food was top notch, waiter was attentive and caring. The bacon was removed as asked. Overall, it was a significantly better experience. Thank you Longhorn for...
