Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams — Restaurant in Addison

I finally decided to try Jeni’s for the first time today (Friday, 9.9.2022, approximately 4:30pm) because I’ve heard so many great things about the ice cream. I went when I got off of work so it took me about 25 mins because of school zones/a little rush hour traffic. I initially knew I wanted the Oreo cookie ice cream, but when I asked to taste it, the lady said that they won’t have it until next week, I believe. So I got the Honey Vanilla Bean, which I tasted, and was really good.

My issue was when I specially asked for a pint (not the packaged one) and the lady said it’s the same as the prepackaged ice cream. She kept trying to get me to purchase the prepackaged pint instead of scooping the ice cream that was there into a pint. I was getting so frustrated and said I’m not sure what to do because I drove all the way over here in traffic and did not want to make a blank trip and you’re not giving me what I’m asking for. I was just going to wait for the other guy that was there to finish with the other customer and ask him to do it. So she eventually scooped and packaged my ice cream. My thing is - if I’m paying $12.00 for ice cream, I want it how I want it.

I usually go to Ben & Jerry’s and I have NEVER had that problem with them.

I look forward to enjoying ice cream, but I doubt that I’ll be rushing back to Jeni’s. I’ll most likely stick with Ben & Jerry’s where the customer service isn’t...

The name says it all, "SPLENDID."

My wife and I went in because we were at Shake Shack and decided we wanted our ice cream from an actual ice cream place instead of a malt of a shake.

Omg... What a great decision that was. I tried a sample of the Texas Sheet cake (a little to sweet for my blood, but good none-the-less) and ended up landing on a Trio for me and a double for my wife.

She loved hers so much that I ended up getting pints to take home with us. Mine was amazing too. I got the gooey butter cake, the buttery almond brittle, and the maple covered pancakes... Do yourself a favor and check this place out. The staff are outstanding too. They deal with a lot of annoyances from customers and do so with an amazing attitude, a smile on their face, and are very knowledgeable of which flavors pair best with others.

I'd post pictures of our beautiful cones... but, we ate them so fast that pictures were the last thing on my mind.

All of the poor reviews are from people that waited until 30 minutes, or less, before close with 10+ people and expected the workers to stay late to serve...

This was my second visit so I’m still unfamiliar with the process.

Ice cream is phenomenal but the service today was horrible. There was only 2 other customers who had eaten and were leaving because it was after 2pm so there was not a rush. I initially was requested three flavors but couldn’t pick so I settled for 2. Nothing had been scooped yet. The cashier became visibly frustrated as if I was wasting his time as I chose my flavors. I kindly asked for the waffle triangle that was offered to me the last visit, he was huffing and puffing like he was having to bake it from scratch. He brought the ice cream and stuck the spoon in one of the scoops. I asked for the lid to the bowl and he said Oh you wanted it to go? With an attitude. Then walked away shaking his head. I told him to keep it because I won’t be paying that much for ice cream to be disrespected and tolerated. I’m extremely disappointed with...
