I’m writing this review while I’m still here seated at my table. My visit here started off good then went downhill. I ordered the Italian beef Dip Panini. I asked what was the soup of the day and Michael our waiter who was nice, said the they started serving today the loaded baked potato soup. It sounded good so I ordered it.
Food was ready fairly quick however, our waiter was staring at the bar talking to an another employee. We saw our food sit at the ready counter for 5 minutes or so. When I got my food, it looked great! Well, the soup was room temperature cold and so was the au jus. I first noticed the soup was cold so I asked if they could just microwave it, and a waitress took it to the kitchen. While she was there, I noticed the au jus was cold (room temperature) as well. I ask her to heat that up as well and she took it back to the kitchen. I tell her to just pack it to go. She brings both back and the soup is about warm and the au jus is scolding hot, so hot that it warped the plastic lid. I’m still waiting for it to cool down. Were they upset that I asked to heat up the soup an au jus or that it’s Halloween and they are at work? I’m talking about the kitchen staff.
I told the waitress who took over for Michael (both Michael and the waitress were very kind btw) that they probably turned off the warming station. I did say the au jus was scolding hot and she said they don’t have a microwave so they had to heat it up in oven. On a side note, the ginger ale was watery but I drank it and then I asked for a lemonade and I was charged for both. $4.50 for a ginger ale and $5 for a lemonade (not sure if they have free refills or one courtesy free refill?).
The only reason why I gave the service three stars is because they were at the bar and you can see directly towards the kitchen station so there shouldn’t have been an excuse to not grab my food in a timely manner and this place wasn’t busy at all. I did get here at 10pm so maybe they didn’t anticipate anyone ordering soup? I was very disappointed but I’m willing to give them another try. Not sure if you can see the steam rising from the au jus but I waited 20+ in order for it to cool down so I could safely take it without it spilling all over the place because the second lid was warped and burning my hands because...
Read moreI’ve always loved Postino. The food, the wine lineup, the atmosphere, all of it has made it one of my favorite places. I’ve gone often because it always felt welcoming and enjoyable, and I truly looked forward to each visit. That’s why this experience was so disappointing and honestly upsetting.
During my visit, Postino was promoting two specials: buy 100 dollars in gift cards and receive a 30 dollar bonus card, and half off bottles to go. I was excited to take advantage of the holiday deals because I genuinely enjoy their wines. But what I was charged didn’t match the promotions that were being advertised. After checking the prices online, in person, and on DoorDash, I realized the same bottles had three different prices, and none of them matched the promotional pricing shown in the photos I attached.
On top of that, I didn’t receive the gift cards I purchased, and I wasn’t given a receipt at checkout. When I requested an itemized receipt later, the version I received did not reflect the actual pricing or match any of their menus. It felt inaccurate and left me confused.
When I contacted the restaurant, the only response I got was that I was the first person to notice any issues. After that, I never heard anything back. No follow up, no explanation, and no effort to make things right. It made the whole situation feel even more disappointing, especially because I reached out in good faith with photos and details.
I’ve had so many good memories at Postino and truly love their food and wine selection, which is what makes this experience so discouraging. I really hope management takes this seriously, because transparency and communication matter, especially to the people who visit often and genuinely enjoy...
Read moreNever have i ever fallen so in love with a restaurant upon the first visit, and still had every subsequent visit be just as good if not better than the first. Buckle in for a novel of praise, folks. I don’t write reviews very often, so please believe me when I say that Postino’s is worth going out of your way to visit. Our first visit was April 1st, and we’ve been back nearly every week since. The atmosphere is absolutely divine. My girlfriend and I love any excuse to dress up for date night and Postinos is the perfect place to do so. The staff are seemingly encouraged to dress in their own personal style, and it makes for an elevated experience. I cannot believe more restaurants haven’t adopted this philosophy. There is so much color and vibrancy and uniqueness that seems to live and breathe throughout the entire restaurant- to the point that I’d probably still rate it highly even if the food wasn’t good.
And the FOOD, is SO GOOD. I’m sure eventually we will make our way through the whole menu, but everything we’ve tried so far is 5 star review worthy. They have an amazing deal on Mondays and Tuesdays after 8pm where you can get a bottle of wine and board of bruschetta for 25$. A STEAL. The staff have amazing knowledge and recommendations, and have made each visit feel tailored to our tastes.
Beyond all of this, we have been made to feel right at home by the staff. Each time we’ve come we’ve had wonderful conversations with who i assume is the manager as well as the waitstaff.
It goes without saying that for as long as I am living in Dallas, we will be regulars here. It is hands down my favorite find in 5 years living here.
Thank you, Postino’s! See you...
