South Point Tavern — Restaurant in Akron

Was introduced to this lovely place while meeting up with an old friend I hadn't seen in years. I love the atmosphere! Small, dark, and clean. There's no restaurant from what I can tell which I honestly prefer because then I know that we are all there for business, ie drinks. Selection is AWESOME! A lot of higher end Spirits which I appreciate. And Rachel our bartender knew how to mix a cocktail properly. I'm a bit particular in the way I like my drinks, as my palate is a tad more refined. My old fashioned was great. Fresh line juice in my Kentucky Mule👍. Rachel recommended a Spanish Manhattan, which I have never had. I'm glad she did, as it was delicious! To top of the night we both enjoyed a shot of Angels Envy Rye, which a lot of places usually don't carry. I also love how they keep the Scotch in a separate little hutch away from everything else....

South Point is such a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Every time I swing by, I am treated to one of the best cocktails I've had in Akron along with superior service from a very helpful and friendly staff. You could get lost in the number of options they have available - I think they have a half dozen different types of Old Fashioned, alone - but the bartenders are so helpful and accommodating, willing to talk thru what you like and don't like to find the best option for you. The space is quiet, cosy, and vibey with the lights kept low. Seating is limited, but I haven't had an issue getting...

Best bourbon bar in Akron, with over 300 kinds on the shelves, the only one in Ohio accredited by the Bourbon Trail. The bartender, Erica is a double certified executive bourbon steward, and happily shares her enthusiasm and knowledge of bourbons and whiskies with her patrons. It's strange to be excited about spending time in a bar but, with so many choices, this is a place where that comes easily. The tasting flights are priced from very to barely affordable, with each set giving new experiences to discover. Great place to learn and enjoy what whiskey (and other drinks)...
