I love the atmostphere of this place. I come here often for a quiet place to study. Ive noticed that staff absolutley will not do more than the bare minimum to make you feel comfortable here. As soon as i walk in, i get asked immediately what I want to order. Very rarely do i ever get a smile, ive been coming here for two months now almost every day and nobody has remembered me, time and time again having to ask my name for my order, it makes me giggle every time. Today they were out of everything she says… except biscuits. I ask if they have bagels she says if its in the case we do. I said okay ill get one of those with cream cheese on the bagel. She says you want it ON the bagel? Ummm okay. My request was not wild, or even that much of a request. When my food is ready they yell my name, i finish up my thought but before i can even do that shes yelling my name quite loud 3 MORE times in the span of 30 seconds. I feel like im being yelled at my mother. She continued to tell me that they cant put cream cheese on a bagel in their kitchen… i find it odd. I almost wanted to take the plastic knives they offer (in no wrapping or anything just open in air) and hand it to her so she could do it herself with the knife and cream cheese she offered me. I spent 13 dollars on my meal this morning… i found it ridiculous it was the same price as my normal breakfast sandwich. Im getting a refund on the bagel, and gonna try to find a new place to study. I don't feel welcome...
Read moreI was visiting Orlando from out of town this week (I’m from here, but live out of state now) and was looking forward to my Foxtail mornings. I stopped by this location this morning, and the two baristas were too caught up in their conversation, when I approached the counter, it was like I interrupted something important. I ordered my coffee, and the barista was very dry throughout our interaction. Not going to lie, it kind of put a bummer on my morning. I’m a sucker for a good coffee shop - I even work in the industry myself, so it’s disappointing to be met with baristas who seem miserable working behind the counter. I went back up to buy some merch, and while the other barista was ringing me up, I pulled my phone out to prepare for Apple Pay, she said “it’s just going to take a second for me to pull this up” in a tone that indicated I was trying to rush her? As an industry worker myself, I know it’s easy to be judgmental, and have pet peeves about guests behaviors, but to immediately assume the worst in people is a sign that maybe this isn’t the industry for you to work in. All this to say, Foxtail, I’ve really loved your coffee over the years, but more so the conversations with the baristas during the process - and to me, that’s what really makes a good cup of coffee, but my experience this morning was sub par at best, and I hope that is not the type of service that represents...
Read moreEllie at the Foxtail on University made my day! She was immensely kind, personable, professional, and helpful! After telling her I had had a long day, she not only gave fun and helpful suggestions on my order but treated me to my beverage! She is an incredible asset to this location and I hope they value her well!
My drink was also delicious! I ordered an iced matcha latte with lavender bitters and Ellie added some vanilla as well to make it even more special. It was so good and the perfect pick-me-up! She even tested it herself in a small cup to make sure that the flavors were all going to pair well together.
The atmosphere is great as well! Previously, this location was a frigid tundra which made it difficult to sit, relax, and enjoy but I was pleasantly surprised that was not the case today. The temperature was more comfortable. The leather seats were slightly too deeply set to chat with someone but I’m sure they are great for reading in. I did visit while UCF was out of session which may have contributed to the availability of tables. The playlist was great and the environment had a noise balance that allowed some to focus on work and some to chat amongst friends. This location seems to have improved greatly and I'm...
