Why can't I give zero stars?! So, 5pm on a Friday and they are slow,i.e. 10 customers tops. I wait a minute while the two hostesses, chatting about something non work related, avoid looking my way till their conversation is over. A plain clothed manager motions to the girls to seat me. I watched as one of the girls buried her head in the computer in front of her and the other rolled her eyes and slowly walked my way. She asked if I wanted a table or the bar, to which I replied the bar would be fine. WRONG ANSWER!! She shoved a menu at me and said to set myself, and then made a b-line back to her co-host. So I find a seat at the bar, which only had two customers seated at it. The tricky part was a bartender! For no less than 5 minutes I sat at the bar with no bartender or server coming by to take my drink or food order. How ever, in the five minutes I did see three different groups of employees standing around and talking. Funny story, as i was watching one group carry on I caught the eye of one of them, threw up my arms as though to say what gives! And he then went to a computer in the corner and I presume he clocked off and then quickly left the building. That was enough for me, I just wanted some ribs and chicken that was good. but given the lack of care for the customers that I witnessed, I know how that also translates to the back of the house and quality of food that is produced. as a last ditch effort, I left the bar and attempted to go to the other side of the restaurant to see if I could be seated at a table and receive better service. I get to the other side and see all the servers making their way to the kitchen. why would management not keep a crew on the floor for customers already trying to get an order in? so I turn around to drop my menu off at the hostess desk and leave when I was confronted by a manager. "what do you need sir"? she asks. I explained my situation and experience, she seamed completely unconcerned and only asked if she could seat me at a table. so now I see that the lack of customer service does start at the top at this particular establishment. so I tell the manager no and that I will be leaving. to which her response was "oh well, it happens"! that just blows my mind. this place won't last much longer with this poor form of customer swrvice. Guess everyone can look forward to the bath and body Works in this location come...
Read moreBefore I begin I want you to know I really want famous Dave’s to do well and for the most part I enjoy myself I go there Yes sure. When I first left review I got long-winded so I change my mind. So this time I try to be More to the point. I went to celebrate the new year (SundayJanuary 2) there wasn’t that many people but it was a long time before we or allowed to get a seat.2) my food was warm but not HOT (My Company since his food back to be made HOT told me (“that is one of the reasons he is reluctant to come there because the food is warm but not HOT As it should be for barbecue. But he went there hoping it would be different and because of me.”) 3.) My Texas brisket seem to be 95% fat I have experienced that more than once. I wanted to mention this while we were there to get some compensation for it but my company was in a hurry. So I telephone to let the voicemail and I also talk to someone claiming to be the Manager. She says sorry about that but you should’ve asked for the lien cut brisket is served it was fat so you should kind of expect that Ha! I’m gonna let you know something I don’t know anyone who would expect to have something that is mostly fat weather is Texas brisket or anything else I would expect the brisket to have some fat yes but not what I was served. Now Again I really like famous Dave’s barbecue the atmosphere and I want famous Dave’s barbecue to do very well man where the location is. And because of the lockdown situation I understand some things may be slow but never hurts to let you know how one feels in order to help you improve not to be rude you lash out online with anonymity but it’s meant to help you improve I shouldn’t have to ask for them cut a brisket to avoid getting mostly fat I do expect some fat. I wish I didn’t pay for that particular brisket I wish I got some compensation at least for my next visit because I do intend to visit. And I miss a waiter and bartender as well as a waitress that used to be there before this lockdown very...
Read moreI recently ventured into Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que in search of a succulent BBQ experience. What I found was a mixed bag; the BBQ, while satisfactory, fell short of the high expectations I had, whereas the service exceeded all norms in hospitality.
Being a BBQ aficionado, I was eager to delve into the rich, smoky flavors of the Texas Brisket and BBQ Chicken, part of Dave's two-meat option. However, when the meal arrived, my enthusiasm somewhat deflated. The brisket portion was disappointingly small and, to my discerning palate, tasted like it had been quickly reheated and lathered with an off-the-shelf sauce. The chicken echoed a similar tale, leaving me craving more in terms of both size and flavor. Please refer to the attached photos for a visual account of my experience. Considering the meal's price point of approximately $30 per plate, I expected a more generous portion and a higher level of culinary mastery.
That said, if you're in the mood for a quick, convenient meal and are content with reasonably decent BBQ, Famous Dave's could be a consideration.
As for the atmosphere, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday at 2 p.m., which might be a point of concern for those seeking a lively dining environment.
However, it was the exceptional service that redeemed my experience at Famous Dave's. With only two individuals running the entire operation, their dedication to their roles was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The lady at the front desk not only managed orders and seating but also participated in preparing the meals. The commendable hard work and commitment displayed by the staff earns them a full 5 out of 5 stars from me.
In conclusion, Famous Dave's earns an overall rating of 3 out of 5. The BBQ experience was okay, but it was the staff's dedication and commitment that left a lasting impression. So if you're seeking excellent service and are willing to compromise a bit on the BBQ, Famous Dave's might be...
