Just newly relocated to Alaska from Guam and my wife, who is Filipina, and I were really excited to try this restaurant.
I have to say it was a huge disappointment. As someone who travels often to the Philippines and enjoys the food it was such a let down.
We ordered quite a few of our favorite dishes - from pancit to Sinigang to Lechon Kawali (Spelling). The pancit was over-cooked and just downright mushy almost the consistency of mashed potatoes. The Lechon was tough but not crispy more like over-cooked. And the saddest of them all was the Sinigang.
To describe what they serve as Sinigang is a insult to the dish. It was very very bland, the sour-soup mix was very weak. And there was an absolute lack of anything vegetables in the dish. I will post the picture but the servers and cooks should be absolutely ashamed of serving this dish. There was no Gabe or taro. No tomato, no radish or any other vegetables that are commonly found in Sinigang. They literally served Bok Choy, a weak sour mix and a few pieces of pork.
So as sad as I am to say, I would not recommend at all. I hope they do something or maybe it was just an off day for them but they need...
Read moreVery disappointed with our experience for catering. We ordered shanghai lumpia 70 pieces, beef caldereta, and lechon. We were told prior to paying how big the trays were. The associate told us what we wanted to hear when we placed the order in person and when we came to pick up the order, the trays were the SMALLER ones from what we were told before buying. I was shocked. The person we placed our order with was yelled at by possibly the owner(?) when we expressed our concern. We paid $190 plus $30 tip.
I ended up counting the lumpia to make sure it was actually 70 pieces and we were shorted and had only 58. Had a little time before guests showed up and ended up frying more lumpia to add to the tray. The lechon were sliced in larger pieces, it was good but obvious they used old oil to fry them because there so many black flakes on each piece. The caldereta was good… but I probably won’t be ordering it again. Or anything at all for an event. Luckily these were just extra dishes we had. Overall disappointing experience...
Read moreNot enough variety for Filipino cuisine. Both times I went there, there was no adobo, no pinakbet, not even diniguan. Almost everything was pork, where's the chicken? Side items are overpriced, I got lechon and sinigang and paid $15.95, but what came out of my account 2 days later was $21.00, I did NOT authorize this. I will be talking to management about this tomorrow, as today is Labor day and they are closed. KEEP YOUR RECIEPTS!!! Update I called at 11am, they told me I had to come in. When I came in, they showed me their copy or the receipt with someone else's handwriting for $21.00 as the total. The young lady told me her manager is in charge of posting tips. I've advised them that, that is card fraud and illegal. They then offered me a cash refund for the difference. BEWARE OF THIS...
