Pho' Vietnam — Restaurant in Alaska

I've had pho from almost all of other resteraunts around town, I love the stuff. Wanted to give this place a try after seeing good reviews. I got the beef pho delivered via doordash. First sip of the broth and wow- holy saltiness! It was saltier than any pho I've gotten from anywhere else. I love salt too and can't stand when food is under seasoned. I was going to give 2 stars for that but the lime balanced the saltiness out just enough so it wasn't as overwhelming. It tasted like oversalted beef broth, couldn't taste much of the other flavors... The addition of lime, jalapeno and Thai basil made it heaps better but I can't get over the amount of salt they put into this! I understand resteraunts have off days and will try again. This place is "ok". I went there closer to closing time to order a seafood pad thai noodle dish, pictured below. Unlike the lower 48 states, the dish isn't prepared well like for example the fish ball, squid, and shrimp were pre-boiled and then added to the pad thai. When you eat it, there's little flavor. Down in the lower 48, they'd sauteed the seafood with lots of spices & sauces then add them to the noodle. The portion is LARGE. The customer service was good, but the employees looked stressed out. There was no smile but this may be attributed to a high traffic area during lunch time as some reviewers had stated. We had the pho tai (Vietnamese beef soup)and it was a 10 out of 10. We are visiting from Seattle, a city with lots of pho places and good pho. This place served pho with a few additional ingredients than what I've seen in Seattle.

If you are new to Anchorage or a tourist this is in the heart of a nice shopping area and very convenient.

The owner seems to be running it and waited on us. He is very attentive and a great server. He does come up to table just shortly after you sit down, someone else in these reviews didn't like that.
