Amazing company. We booked our tour online. After arriving at the Harrigan Centennial Hall, their staff was easy to locate. Since we arrived just at the time of our tour, the tour bus was already there. The bus was spacious and accomodated a small group of people. This made the tour more intimate as it was easy to hear and interact with the driver who doubled as a tour guide. Since the driver was a Sitka resident, he was able to share a wealth of information about each of the places we visited as well as answer questions that people had. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend this tour company wholeheartedly. If you'll be traveling to Sitka on a cruise, save yourself some money and book your tour directly instead of through the cruise ship. You will save a good chunk of change without having to worry about anything. The shuttle bus will bring you from the port to downtown / Harrigan Centennial Hall and then back...
Read moreThis family owned tour did not disappoint. Annmarie, as a 30+ year resident of Sitka, was a great tour guide and gave a very personal and very knowledgable tour to our family. She was very friendly and pointed out all the highlights you’d have to try and discover on your own, the Fortress of the Bear was one of the highlights for sure. Annmarie also did a great job intertwining local culture and personal stories to really make the tour feel special.
It is reasonably priced at about $115/person. This includes admission to the Fortress of the Bear and a guided tour of the Sitka National Park as well as explanations from AnnMarie of all the totem poles in the area.
Save yourself the headache of trying to self-guide your party through Sitka and visit Sitka Tundra Tours! Their entire team is kind, friendly and wants you to have a...
Read moreThis is a great tour experience. See Sitka at your pace and in the comfort of a beautiful, modern van. The co-owner, Ruger, takes you all over Sitka, stopping at points of interest, describing the town and answering any (or all) questions you may have. He is an actual Alaskan, having grown up in Sitka. He attended school there (you pass his schools on the tour) and has a true passion for introducing his guests to his hometown. There is a bit of walking, but nothing too strenuous (he will walk you through the Sitka Totem National Historic Park and describe the interesting details of the totem poles as well as the flora and fauna of the region). The price we paid was VERY reasonable for the service. My wife and I considered this a highlight of our Alaska cruise and we give it our highest recommendations! ...
