Don Jose’s #2 — Restaurant in Albany

The best bean burrito of my life. DELICIOUS! The "hottest" green hot sauce has just the right heat for most of us gringos. The tortilla was unusually prepared and added a lot to the great flavor of the beans.

Notably, their food is made from scratch, so it feels good after you eat it. The portions are generous. The staff are sweet people.

While waiting for your order to be prepared, they give you a pager, so you can go to your car and relax.

The atmosphere is loud, exposed, and utilitarian. However, a) a beautiful park is 1 minute down the road, and b) the location is near COSTCO, so it is very easy to stop in for take out. I tried Don Jose's for the first time and I was very pleased with the whole experience that I went back the next day! I had the asada/ carnitas tacos and horchata. The texture and taste of the tacos were perfection! Their red sauce is tasty and their horchata was delicious! Even the second time! The service was quick and kind. I am so happy to have a good tasting local taco truck around!...

We stumbled on this gem after the restaurant we chose was closed. The food was fresh and delicious. Two of us got the Birria tacos and they were the best ones they have had.
