Wanted to try out the Bacon Cheeseburger deal for $9.95.
The hostess seated us promptly. 15 minutes later a server finally showed up. I asked to delete the cheese because they don't offer any good alternatives and to add green chili. "We don't have green chili" she replied. So we declined the fake cheese and ordered.
If Applebee's is "eatin' good in the neighborhood" they should be aware of the culinary norms of the neighborhood! In New Mexico that means GREEN CHILI on burgers.
Took a while to get out drinks and then even longer to get our food. There was ketchup on the table but no mustard. We asked the person who brought our food, who was dressed like a manager, for mustard and he said "I'll be right back". Never came back so I asked our server who finally rushed by for mustard and another 15 minutes went by before she returned and by then our burgers were cold and the burgers were NOT cooked medium well but were pink inside.
Our server never returned after delivering the mustard to ask if everything was OK.
During the meal we drank our drinks and I caught our server as she rushed by asking for refills and that took another 10 minutes.
We finished our meal and the server was at the next table so I asked for the check. She asked if we wanted more fries and I thought we don't have the time to wait for more fries so I said "just the check".
All the servers seem disorganized, overloaded, and they don't seem to have tables in the same area so they bounce all around the restaurant. Our server was dealing with tables all over the restaurant and at the bar and spent more time on the computer than actually serving her tables.
This Applebee's was only half full so I wonder how bad the experience would be during happy hour or dinner time. I'll never find out because we will never set foot in a n Applebee's again.
While the Bacon Cheeseburger deal for $9.95 looks really appealing on TV the reality is that going next door to the Burger King will get you hot food, as you like it, and with green chili a lot faster with better service for half the price that Applebee's charges even during their burger deal promotion
Hey Applebee's... stop the commercials and put that money into adequately staffing your restaurants, training your management, and organizing your serving procedures and kitchen processes!
Some businesses make money despite their best efforts not to.

Read moreI don't know if it's the franchise or the Montgomery/Juan Tabo location management. Unfortunately, this Applebee's needs major improvement. When we arrived the restaurant was not even half full but we waited for about 7 mins to be acknowledged and sat. We ordered drinks (only have Pepsi products). Ordered chips and salsa, we got them and the chips were stale and did not taste well. The salsa had the appearance, texture and smell of marinara sauce with cilantro, no spice, just a tomato based taste. We ordered our food after half an hour of waiting for our order to be taken. I could see our waiter socializing at the bar. We ordered a kids pepperoni pizza, chicken tenders with fries and stir fry shrimp. When the pizza came out it was cheese, I asked for the pepperoni and they said they don't have pepperoni, then I realized the cheese was not melted and the crust seemed it was thawed. Before my son could eat i took a bite, sure enough it was partially frozen, cold and was disgusting. My waiter was nowhere to be found. I had to ask the busser to take it back, she just picked it up and left. Then when it was brought back another waiter, not our waiter, still socializing, said in a nice voice here you go. No apologies, no asking for alternatives. Looks like that's a ongoing issue with them since it didn't phase them. My daughter's fries were not heated and stale, chicken tenders not warm and nothing but bread. My stir fry was so salty with soggy vegetables, I couldn't eat it. We paid and left but we won't be going back. This Applebee's used to be one of my favorites and go to for a quick weekend afternoon lunch. The quality of the food concerns me and what does the kitchen and ingredients look like? It was substandard food and service. Read moreWell we went In tonight. Your bartender midnight did awesome and Josh Helped her out. We waited For quite some time before Josh came to help. There was a waitress over there with a nose ring And another gentleman that she was talking to also was a Waiter and they just sat there And knew we were there but didn't do anything To help out. Look like they were too busy Flirting with each other instead of checking to see If people needed help. Especially Since the bartender was very busy and had to ask Josh to help and he did immediately With no hesitation. Me and my husband felt bad for the bartender She had no help except from Josh. The manager was out But not out there to see what was going on. Might have to let corporate know about this. Also the Waitress with the nose ring Wasjust sitting around Not helping the bartender whatsoever. Like I said she noticed when we come in But never bothered to help us. I do understand That they were busy Because of a football game going on But you guys need to put more staff to help the bartender out so she can take care Of the The bar when it gets that busy.
