I only gave a 2 because the food was okay. The last two times I have been to this location, I have been extremely disappointed. One time the waiter was at the next table and decided to not even say "hi" or "I'll be right with you". Instead he ignored us and went to the back for a full 9 minutes (I used to be in the service industry as a manager so I time them). He then comes by and asks for our drink order to which I reply that we are also ready to order food. He takes the drink order and says "I'll get those and be right back." Didn't I just say we are ready to order?? I did. He returns with the drinks and puts them down handling the glasses by the rim. We ordered two waters and two teas and he leaves two straws. We had to switch back and forth from our waters to our teas. Who's training these guys? Which takes me to my next encounter. I placed an order for takeout over the phone and looked at the bill when my husband came back with it to find a $5.59 ice cream sandwich where a $1.99 child's sundae should have been (which is what we received). I also saw a charge for a child's chocolate milk which was not ordered and my daughter's drink was included with her meal. When I called and got NICKI, the manager, she told me that "the guy" (not the gentleman that picked it up), said he didn't need that and she took it off. "The GUY", my husband, said no he never said that or spoke with a manager. I told her I'm looking at it on my bill to which she called me a liar and that I shouldn't speak to her "that way". What way? I did not use any obscenities or yell at her. I have the call recorded. This was not personal but she tried to make it so. This is about a false charge on my credit card that needed to be cleared up. She hung up and now I'm posting here. After further review by myself and my husband we did see that the charge was corrected but it wasn't due to him saying anything and the receipt that we were given was inaccurate and caused confusion. If she had been a good manager she would have figured that out and explained it properly. Corporate will know about this as I am sending this information to them also. Poor management = poor service =...
Read moreVisited this location with my mom, her partner, and my siblings while on vacation about 2 weeks ago. We all have been to Applebee's many times in the past, so we knew what to expect.
Waitress brought out half of our plates and told us she would be right back with the rest. My brothers and mom waited to eat until we got our food. AT LEAST TEN FULL MINUTES LATER, we flagged down the manager because the rest of our food was nowhere to be found, as was our waitress. He went to check on her. She returned to tell us that they were waiting on one item for one of the plates; no communication of that for 10-15 minutes while half the food at our table got cold. The manager comped one of our 4 plates, which helped somewhat soften the blow.
Then, the waitress brought the check, my mom's partner gave her cash to pay it. Change was supposed to be $2.45; waitress handed her 2 dollars and walked away. When she flagged out waitress back down to confront her about it, the waitress told her she didn't have enough coinage on her to make the 45 cents; wrong answer. If you don't have coin, you round the change UP and give an extra dollar. And again, no communication of that fact. Nothing. No real apology from her either for any of it. Just 1 comped plate out of 4 and a "so sorry about that" from the manager.
Not to mention, the entire time we were there, the manager was sitting at a booth right next to the main entrance doing paperwork on 2 different laptops. Taking up an entire booth on the floor, completely disengaged from what was happening in his restaurant, on a Saturday, DURING BALLOON FIESTA WEEKEND, Albuquerque's biggest tourism weekend of the year!!! No wonder the place was half empty.
This was hands down the worst experience I and my family have ever had at any Applebee's in...
Read moreI don't know where to start from . We went there last night and we just were wondering how a place like this is still in business, we had a big party of 14 people, we had to wait 35 minutes before a beer was brought to the table, the restaurant was empty , we waited another 40 minutes before some waters were brought to the table, when we finally ordered our food it took them over 1and half hour to bring it (empty restaurant). But guess what, at that point we had been at this place for 2 hours and the servers didn't know that we had no silverware at all on the table really? I order a burger with 2 patties and they brought me one with one patty , on the menu it said is coming with pepper jack cheese and they served with Swiss cheese when I told the waitress she said that is not what the menu said it's however the cook makes it really? , so I ended up eating whatever they wanted me to eat and not what I ordered and paid for,They served food first and forgot all the salads, salads are the first dishes served along with appetizers everywhere. When we finally asked for our checks after more than 3 hours of this nightmare it took them another 45 minutes just to bring our checks, no tablets on the tables so we could pay our checks right there and just leave .At the end we spent nearly 4 hours at this place for a plate of food and 2 beers beyond ridiculous. the food was terrible and bland, Unacceptable, unnecessary behavior and terrible service by this Applebee's whole staff, while all of this was happening the manager was just running in and out of the bathroom texting on his phone. We'll never be back again and warn everyone outhere please don't go to this place, this place' s employees and staff don't care about their...
