Bourbon & Boots — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Wife and I Visiting Albuquerque from Seattle 5/19/23 decided to stop in this what seemed like fun country bar on the strip. Security at the door a tall gentleman with a cowboy hat first makes a comment about my wife’s shoes, being “cute” in a creepy way checks her ID and she passes, moves on to me and instantly asks me “how high am I” I thought this was a height joke or something so I laugh but he was serious and proceeded to say my eyes were dilated, which being of mixed race my eyes are jet black, my doctor can’t even see my pupils without a flashlight. We were stone cold sober, had just left dinner and hadn’t even started drinking. The fact of the matter was I wasn’t welcome in this bar for whatever reason. I quickly went inside told my wife this isn’t the bar for us she was refunded her cover charge and we left. My advice to you is if you’re a tourist stay away from this place, as a 45 year old businessman that’s traveled around the country I’ve never been harassed by security in such degrading way. There are plenty of other great restaurants and bars to visit in Albuquerque...

One place we will definitely not go back to, from the beginning we started to have a horrible experience, one of the bouncers started to make comments about how people behind us were dressed, is something he should have kept to himself. reserved the VIP room and was promised our own wait staff, the waitress hardly came by to check on us, other people were sitting down in our section even after we were told it would have been closed off just for our party, then talked to the bouncer when we stepped outside to get food when we tried to go back in 10 minutes later we were told we were too drunk to go back in, my designated driver was drinking water and soda the whole time, we were told we must have gone to another bar and got drunk, when I told them I needed to close down my tab I only had 2 drinks to pay for in the 1.5 hours we were there, horrible way to be treated. what was supposed to be a special night with friends and family turned out to be a bad experience from this place also being talked down to by the bouncer when tried to resolve the issue about my tab didn’t...

It's was my first time trying this local joint in town, was super stoked that it wasn't just another Bar but a wing it up place too. The environment was chill, taste in music were the jams. Althpugh, I was a bit dissatisfied with the service from the female bartender who took our order. Since it was our first time we were a bit confused as too how we order and/or pay in advance. She was awfully rude and seemed annoyed of having to take our order. Despite of her lack of hospitality the food came out amazing. I will honestly say respect and shout out to the cooks who tossed up the wings. Hand crafted to the bone!! Each flavor was well put together, for instance, the spices on the lemon peper and maple bacon were divine. Had the perfect crisp and crunch to every bite. The sweet Chile, spicy garlic & buffalo were on point. The Tangyness and level amount of spicy was balanced, not overpowering, colorful presentation leaving wanting more. 🍗 don't forget to order the fries and/or onion wings. Soooo...
