Trevor was the only saving grace of this strange experience. It was my first time in New Mexico and I had many people suggest the Sawmill Market. I walked around to find somewhere to enjoy an afternoon lunch and cocktail. Flora was so pretty I knew I had to try it out. There wasn't anyone at the host stand to seat me so I walked in and asked someone at the bar to seat me. A young guy was able to seat me and provided a menu for me to order and stated a server would be with me shortly. I quickly found what I wanted as the menu is tiny and waited patiently for a server to greet me and take at least my drink order. No one came for about 15 minutes so I went back to the bar and informed the same young guy that I had been waiting awhile. He said there was only 1 server that she would greet me soon , but as I sat and observed other people who walked in were greeted and seated so I was a bit confused . Waited a few more minutes and still no one even offered a glass of water. Trevor saw me sitting there and approached me and I informed him of my experience. He was so kind and the only positive . He said my drink would be on him and took my order. Once my order arrived I was a bit stunned. Not only was my shrimp and steak tacos COLD, they were tiny! Trevor checked on me and I left some food in case someone wanted to check the temperature because this entire situation was not what I expected. Trevor asked if I wanted anything else but I definitely did not want to continue being disappointed. The cocktail also wasn't very tasty. All in all a huge disappointment for a restaurant that had so much potential. Thankyou Trevor for being amazing! They are lucky to have you. As for the 2 female servers who continued to look in my direction and could not do the bare minimum I do not...

Ugh, where do I even begin with this dining disaster from yesterday? We walked into a restaurant with tumbleweeds practically rolling across the empty floor, yet the first thing they tried to do was park us at the bar. Seriously? Plenty of vacant tables, and none with a "reserved" sign in sight. Strike one. Foolishly, we decided to stay. We placed our order, brimming with anticipation (or maybe just hunger at that point). Fast forward almost an hour. Yes, you read that right, sixty agonizing minutes later, we finally flagged someone down, wondering if our food had decided to take a permanent vacation. And the reason for this epic delay? Apparently, a larger party that waltzed in after us was deemed more important and their orders were prioritized. We were, and I quote, "literally forgotten." Forgotten! Like we were invisible diners with imaginary appetites. The sheer audacity of that explanation left us speechless. It's not just about the wait; it's about the blatant disregard for their other customers. It's about feeling completely insignificant in their eyes. Needless to say, by the time our food finally (and begrudgingly) arrived, our appetites had vanished along with any semblance of a pleasant dining experience. Save your time and your sanity – steer clear of this place. They clearly have no clue how to run...

I don’t usually write reviews but I was so disappointed by this experience. I first waked in to the sawmill and smelled grilled shrimp. Immediately decided to get tacos from this place. Seeing the price was 18$ for 3 I was suspicious but I wanted to give it a shot because it smelled good. I asked the cashier how many shrimp come with a taco and she said 3-4. I said okay that sounds like it’ll be filling and a good amount. I waited close to 30 minutes and when I saw these tacos I was shocked by how little was on them. 2 small shrimp in each taco and the slightest amount of every other topping. They had little flavor, I’d say mediocre at best. I could get a better taco for 3$ elsewhere. I asked someone next to me if they got the same and he said he had one shrimp on one of his tacos with the same long wait time. On top of that they gave him guac and chips for his long wait.. and I got 3 sad tacos. I normally would say something about my food if it didn’t seem right but I’ve never been so upset by a meal that I’ve simply walked away. And based on the other reviews I was am not the only one who experience a poor meal and...

Flora really took good care of us here. When a vegan and a keto eater walk into a bar, they didn't treat us like the joke we start to sound like. What I'm saying is it was difficult to find the things that we needed in The Sawmill Market, but Flora made it work for us. The choices of the food in taste and plating was excellent. We ate outside and there were heaters on the patio that kept us comfortable. It was a gorgeous night and the atmosphere was perfect. I dinged the service a little because the waitress was impatient and at times made us feel a little uncomfortable, But the other people who came to answer a questions and the bartender who made up a wonderful drink for me was awesome. We liked the choice of high-end tequilas here. Our night was just perfect. I will be back.

Flora Restaurant, located just inside the west entrance of the Sawmill, has a selection of perfectly crafted dishes and cocktails to die for! The atmosphere is gorgeous and colorful, with the feel of a Mexican beach. The expert servers make sure you get the best of everything you order and are happy to answer any questions you may have. I started with the housemade chips and salsa that come with 3 different kinds of fresh salsa. For lunch, I had the delicious huevos rancheros with the Flora margarita, upgraded with the "El chingon" casamigas anejo tequila. I highly recommend this cocktail if you love a unique margarita. Everything was flavorful and fresh with perfect portion sizes for lunch.

I ignore any Top 10 list that doesn't include Flora as one of the best restaurants in Albuquerque. There is a joke that Albuquerque has 30 restaurants and one menu. If you want New Mexican food there are plenty of places (El Patio bring the best). If you want gourmet Mexican food Flora is simply the best. The thought, care and creativity that went into every dish is impressive. The flavors are both comforting and revelatory. It is not traditional but it is Mexican food your abuelita made... if your abuelita was a Michelin star chef. The atmosphere is great and the staff friendly. For me it's Albuquerque's #1 dining spot.
