This was a quick trip in and out. The App has not been working, so I went in. There was a line, but the cashier kept it moving. I realized why when it was my turn. In my opinion, she was tired, and you could see it in her demeanor and hear it in her voice. She was there to do a job, and that was it.
She was running people through like there was not going to be a tomorrow. Her facial expressions were that of someone going through something, and she wanted to get everyone out so she could go. Her voice was very gruff and had no emotion. I felt for her, but she still needed to show a little more Customer Service than she did. She was even "barking" to her fellow employees.
When my order was called, I had to let the person know that my order was to go. I know because I told the cashier when I ordered. Instead of an, "I'm sorry" or "I apologize, let me fix that for you," I felt that I was chastised for their error. I was told, "It says here, Eat in!" But it was said away from me, but I still heard. I plainly said, "I'm sorry, I did order it to go!" There was no acknowledgment, just my food being transferred to the To Go" boxes.
There was a full staff as you could see others running here and there. The store itself was pretty clean, but you could tell it was a busy day for all of them. I feel for them. Under the circumstances, they did a decent job. I work in a Customer Service business and sometimes, we have to put the way we feel aside to help our Customers. I in no way think a Customer is ALWAYS right, but I do think a little empathy goes a l9ng was especially when we ourselves are having a hard day. I will be back because I do understand...
Read moreI'm not a great fan, anymore, of the Long John Silver's company. I'm really irked at the difficulty in using their app. But this store is, except for the somewhat threadbare interior, what Long John Silver's used to be. Yesterday (August 29, 2025) was my anniversary, and I'd decided to get a 12 piece fish deal rather than taking my wife out for a single meal. I was able to order online without trouble, forgetting about the app.
I got there exactly at the time I'd picked - it didn't take as long as I'd expected to get to the store - and the order wasn't ready. The gentleman behind the counter explained the situation, and went to work putting the order together, while also helping other customers. It only took five minutes or so, and the order was ready. The individual (I didn't get his name) was very polite and professional, and I was happy to deal with him.
And the food was excellent (it still is; I'm eating on it as I type). Whatever else has happened to Long John Silver's, the quality of the food is what it always was, at least at this store. It's hard to find good battered, fried fish anymore, but this is great. And while the hush puppies aren't - of course - homemade, they're as good as any I've ever eaten outside the South.
Alas, the prices aren't what they used to be, and while this is the closest store to where I live, it's still a fair drive. But overall, I have no complaints, at least about this Long...
Read moreWe hadn't been to a LJS in ages and it just sounded good. We ordered a 2 piece fish and 3 piece chicken meal. The fish and chicken was tasty like I remembered, the green beans and corn were fine, but the waffle fries were over cooked and dry, definitely not fresh. Also the fish was a good size, but we got one decent sized chicken plank and the other two were tiny. Example in photos. Service was fine. Restaurant seems a little run down and tables and floor were dirty. When we went to get ketchup and tartar sauce, we had to pump and throw away some as they were both tainted with something else to start. Then we saw another lady have the same issue with the cocktail sauce. The girl behind the counter just told her to keep pumping like we had done. Also we had to throw away some of the condiment cups ans they had ketchup on them and had been put back, although that could have been done by a customer.. All a bit off putting though. I think next time we want LJS we might find another location, I'm...
