Updated 09.02.2025… I truly appreciate hearing from Area Director Randy Kenna—it means a lot to know my feedback was received and valued. I’m glad I was able to clearly express what happened and that it sparked positive changes for the team. That kind of accountability and openness to improvement is what keeps customers coming back. Thank you for taking the time to listen and respond with action. Looking forward to seeing Rudy’s continue to grow from moments like this.
Original Post…. I recently placed a bulk meat order with Rudy’s for a party, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. Customer Service & Communication I requested a quote online and waited four days to receive it. When I called with follow-up questions, I asked to move the pickup time up by an hour. I was told a new invoice would be sent to reflect the change—it never was. That lack of follow-through created unnecessary stress on the day of the event. The Food Brisket (4.5 lbs): Dry, flavorless, and disappointing. Brisket is usually the crowd favorite, but I had over half left untouched. Pulled Pork (4 lbs): Overly greasy with a strong mustard flavor that overwhelmed any BBQ or smoke notes. Not a hit with guests. Regular Sausage: The only redeeming item. Flavorful, well-cooked, and completely gone by the end of the party. Sides & Extras The order was supposed to include BBQ sauce (✅), sliced sandwich bread (✅ but way too much—wasteful), and pickles and onions (❌ not included). I had to scramble last-minute to provide those missing sides, which added stress and cost. Final Thoughts As consumers, we have choices. Rudy’s needs to do better—with communication, order accuracy, and food quality. I expected more from a well-known BBQ establishment, especially for a...
Read moreI had a friend rant and rave about Rudy's in Colorado Springs for years, so I was down in Houston about a month ago and it was everything my friend made it out to be. The best ribs and brisket I've ever had, the meat literally fell of the bone. I ate a pound of meat at one sitting it was so good, I couldn't control myself. It was so awesome I went back one more time before I left Houston and took a co-worker to the same avail, fantastic.
I was in Albuquerque this week and saw Rudy's and had to have it. I went there for lunch on my first day. I had a tenderloin sandwich. It wasn't that tender or flavorful, so I thought tenderloin can be hard to cook right sometimes and get flavor down deep inside. So I thought oh well, I know they have good ribs. So I went back tonight, just got home and I ate two baby back ribs and one chicken leg. What a disappointment!. Both had no flavor, didn't even taste like the they were smoked. The ribs were so tough, I had to put the ribs in my oven at at the time of writing this to see if I could redeem some value out of them. If I had went to this store originally my first time, I would have thought Rudy's was terrible and never went back. What a surprise too, I had to wait almost 30 mins in line, obviously everyone doesn't know what they are missing. Also I have to agree, they could work on their barbecue sauce, but when made right, who...
Read moreDisappointed, got 1 lb pork ribs & 1/2 lb short ribs that were over cooked, dry, not the least bit tender or juicy. They looked questionable when they were being cut & burnt but wasn't until I got home that we realized how bad they were. I've eaten in & taken out at this location many times, the quality has always been exceptional But not this time, today all the meats being taken out of their oven were black & when they were cutting it looked dry and burnt. As it turns out it was and over done, black to the eye too. We ate what we got,had a family to feed but I can't recommend this location at this time unless you like Well Done meat. Should have returned it or at the very least questioned why it look so over qued!!? Mr. manager & Mr. Owner you have a problem, individuals like myself will choose to do my own BBQ'g before even thinking about returning to your establishment and spent the type of money I did just to be dissatisfied, or buy some place else. Should have gone to Costco & bought a $5 rotisserie chicken, would have saved $30 & had an enjoyable dinner. Addendum to this review, owner reached out , requested that I email the review email so his District manager could discuss my review, I'm assuming. So I did 5-6 days ago, no reply, guess not that important to discuss. Food not the only thing...
