I have always loved shopping at World Market and recently I decided to buy some expensive furniture from the store. I checked out the furniture I was interested in while visiting my hometown of Austin, TX. Then, I went online and tried ordering for shipping the pieces I wanted. Unfortunately, the biggest piece had to be picked up at the nearest store to me, which is Albuquerque, NM. I put in the order, rented a Uhaul Van and drove down there to pick up all my items. To make what could be a very long story short - when I got home that evening the cabinet was broken on three hinges. I was devastated. The next day I spoke with the WM manager in Albuquerque, Heather, and she worked with me tirelessly to get my issue resolved. Ultimately, she ordered more cabinets, unboxed them and checked them in the warehouse with the intention of giving me the best looking and then scheduled with me to deliver it herself. She spent a day driving the new one to my front door. Now that is exceptional and what I have to call A++ customer service; and World Market will continue to have a lifelong and happy customer with me. Heather, I cannot thank you enough for the time, patience, and energy you put in to resolving this issue for me and I am now just so pleased with my cabinet and other pieces!...
Read moreOrdered a gingerbread house on the 3rd. I went to pick it up a couple days later and they had closed the store earlier than usual. I believe the sign said they closed at 3 that day. Anyhow, I kept promising my daughter that we were going to make a gingerbread house. At that point, after having put it off for a few days already, I decided to go to Walgreens instead because that was what was open and not crowded. Like my email stated, my order should have been returned several days after purchasing. I come to find out I have an email asking how my purchase was. I never picked up my item. Now customer service is telling me my item is fulfilled. It's only $14 but I never got my item so I deserve my money back. I understand mistakes can happen, especially with new staff around the holidays, but even online customer service hasn't been helpful. Shoutout to the cashier that rung me up for a later in-store purchase on the 27th. Probably the nicest cashier I've had there. Update: one of the managers (Carey?) was able to fix it for me and was understanding...
Read moreI love the store but the manager is lacking in manners. I brought up my purchases to the counter and the total was too high and they couldn't figure out how to use my $5 dollar coupon. No big deal, she was way more upset about it than me. But as we went over the price for each item, one came up $4 more than the tag and one item I picked up off the clearance shelf didn't show a discounted price. The manager looked at me as if I was a poor person trying to get away with something and told the cashier to give me the discount to "appease me". Excuse me? To me, that meant she didn't believe me. I told her there were many more of the same item on the shelf if she cared to look. This left an awful feeling in my gut. With people's disposable income dwindling in this economy, probably spend my money elsewhere. And I know it doesn't matter to...
