A delightful little cafe inside the museum. It's cozy, and rarely crowded. I really enjoy eating here when it comes to the museum. I had the breakfast burrito my wife had avocado toast. Both were delicious. We loved every bite. And the coffee is delightful! It's just what we needed on a morning visit to the museum.

I went at a busy time, but found the service great. The counter person was friendly and working hard. I will come back.

There are a lot of good reviews on here, I'll have to take their word for it, but that was not my experience on Saturday, May 18 at 2:30 p.m.: Management take note.

It is extremely misleading, Dear Cafe Managment, to advertise the Cafe as "open" till 3:00 pm when, in fact, the kitchen apparently closes at 2:30. My husband and I had rushed over to get there before the Cafe closed, coming from Hotel Albuqeurque and eager to grab a lite lunch and see the new exhibit. Alas, that was not to be the case. We arrived exactly at 2:30, which should have been plenty of time given the posted cafe hours online (which contain no kitchen caveat). The purple haired Meanie governing the counter when we came in interrupted my gaze at the "Today's Specials" Board, before either of us could even approach the counter, and in a loud, officious and almost sinisterly gleeful way informed us of the fact that there was no more food to be had. The kichen closed at 2:30. Precisely. Only drinks. Whoa. I. was. ticked. More ticked than usually given the demeanor the of the counter person of purple hair, unkempt hair and icky groooming (as in no grooming) for a food establishment, and, of course, indeterminate Woke pronouns. Welcome to Albuquerque. We both found her unfriendliness, utter lack of customer service, and manner in which she/he/they/it/whatver seemed delighted to NOT serve another customer exceptionally offensive. Also, Welcome to Gen Z in Albuquerque. We've run into a lot of this nasty attitude in the city, confined, it seems, to the struggling 20 somethings forced to actually work but determined to show their unhappiness to everyone they meet. Wretched employees.

Suggestion to Slate Cafe: CLEARLY POST YOUR HOURS and restrictions on food service. As it is your closed two days a week and have very limited hours to begin with. Closing the kitchen before 3:00 pm is really inexcusable.

Suggestion #2: HIRE BETTER. And Fire this purple haired ogre at...

A little pricey, but you'd find the same if you had to leave the museum and eat in Old Town.

We had the Albuquerque Turkey sandwich. It was very tasty, and served nice and warm. The fries were also very good. And be sure to have a Boylan soft drink with your meal, or even by itself. Yumminess...
