MY wedding Cake Looked HORRIBLE!!! after the wedding i thought i was just over reacting and it was not that bad. but i got my pictures back from my photographer and the cake was a horrid mess. I cant believe that they would bring that cake to a wedding! I am so disappointed! They were so nice when I went in and really helpful and the sheet cakes i got were great but my simple Ivory two tear cake with a simple scroll design and flowers was just plain wrong. the Ivory frosting was a patchwork yellow. as if they didn't mix it completely. the Dark blue scroll design i wanted(that i brought in a pretty large color swatch for) was baby blue with a little dark blue on the edges and my RED sugar roses were light pink!! Then they bring the cake out right in front of me late and during the reception and proceed to place the ornament that they said they would make a support for on top of my cake without the support and it fell right down the front of the cake taking frosting with it, they did take it in back and try to fix it a little. brought it back out again right in front of me and just set the ornament on top again!!!!! i had to shove my Ricky and Lucy dancing ornament into my cake myself just to make it stay on the cake!. This was such a disappointment for me on my day. the cake was something that was very special to me and i had to make all of my pictures of the cake back and white just to hide the ugly yellow patchy color. If i could post one here i would. Maybe it was just a bad day or a new baker but this place seriously screwed up my order and i never once got an explanation or an apology about the issues with it. even after they "fixed" it and brought the cake back out I asked the lady about the support they said they would make and expressed my concern for the color of the cake and she did not even acknowledge me at all and walked away. even my photographer could tell that the cake looked odd. I am seriously disappointed, this is one of those days where how it looks did matter more than the taste and i wont get that memory back ever again. they only got a star...
Read moreRead moreI heard cake fetish was an awesome place to purchase a cake for any occasion. I been so excited to have them make me a cake for my daughter’s third birthday. When we first came in to order a younger girl was helping us first but we had questions she couldn’t answer maybe she was training I’m unsure but her colleague quickly stepped in to take over. I was under the impression we were at agreement but when it was time to pick up my order I was very upset and disappointed. What we agreed upon was a two tier cake 10” on the bottom and 8” on the top along with two dozen cupcakes both cupcakes to have filling in them. When I came in to pick up cake, it was only one level. I explained to the young girl who was there and all she said was well let me call my boss and the girl who took the order, she comes back after their phone call and tells me that she thinks there was a miscommunication, We said well what can we do to fix it right now because I need 40-50 servings for adults and she said well you have a cake and cupcakes that will feed the 40 then I explained that cupcakes are for children there’s about 20 kids going to this event and it’s simply not enough. She said again I think there was some sort of misunderstanding between the two of you because I was not there that her colleague charged decorations and one level cake along with two dozen cupcakes. I am already upset at this point and just let her know that it’s fine I’ll just buy another cake somewhere else. (We went to Whole Foods for the popular chantilly cake).Took my cupcake and cake to the event and when I get there we cut open cupcakes for birthday girl and there’s no filling in the cupcakes!! :/ talk about being disappointed not only once but twice I called back the bakery and even left a voicemail but never heard anything back extremely disappointing when you’re paying 200+ for orders that were wrong and nobody cares. Won’t be coming back here again seems like the owner, cake decorators, and employees don’t even care just want your money … Next time I’ll have to make my own cake, save me...
What a bad experience all across the board!
We are getting married next year and we also have a food allergy (gluten). Naturally, that has some limitations within every bakery, understandable. But here, the employees have zero clue what is in their product(s). The first person we made contact with, to do our take home "tasting" was the least helpful. There must have been a bug on the ceiling because she did not look at us, she just talked up towards the ceiling. We had to do a take home "tasting" due to their wedding coordinator having limited hours.
For the "tasting" it comes with three (3) MICRO cakes, a filling (which we couldn't order because nobody knows what's GF) and a topping. The price for each cake is $10. We ordered our cakes with double butter creams for the filling and the topping. Now, when I make cakes, my filling goes in between the top and bottom layers but being so MICRO they piped 2 small dallops into the caves in each of the cakes and covered with butter cream to cover their caved in cake!
The vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream topping and espresso "filling." Was the only one that had a light airiness and great flavor. The other 2 cakes were heavy and dry, chocolate cake with lemon buttercream filling and chocolate topping. The third was a marble that, for some reason was not an easy make? You take chocolate batter and vanilla batter and alternate to make a marble but for whatever reason someone poured the two batters together and made a gray cake, so they whisked it again after pouring into the cake dish. Sad.
Their stipulations of being on time to pick up the order is ridiculous, so we arrive on time and the cakes are NOT ready!?! We should have had some nice and warm cakes but that was not the case. We will not be going to this "bakery" again. Go to...
