I first went to Verizon and they looked at my phone and said I could put in a claim since there was no physical damage to the phone. I said no I want to repair it if that is possible. They referred me to this store and set me up for a 1pm appointment. I arrived, the cashier in the front was speaking to another customer about a screen protector. This prompted me to hold onto that thought as I would likely need one also. I went in for a charging issue. The Verizon store said the repair would be free per my insurance. I said that would work just fine, I mean why change out everything, right? There didn't appear to be a need for the appointment as the cashier was only calling on people by order of appearances, or so it seemed. So I had to wait despite having an appointment. Weird but no biggie. Once attended to, I mentioned my previous interaction at the Verizon store and what was wrong with the phone as it was not charging. The clerk took my phone, inspected the phone and said that the problem was a charging component in the phone and she needed to verify if she had the same part in the back room. I asked her to see if she had a screen protector for my phone style as well while she is back there. She said she would. The next thing I know I hear some murmurs coming from the back room amd shortly afterwards the clerk emerged stating, "We can't fix your phone!" I was confused by the assertion so I thought maybe they didn't have a replacement part. I asked for clarification amd said I'm sorry why do you say that? She stated "because the screen is broken". It was not broken nor the reason for my visit but perhaps there was something I didn't know. The Verizon associate didn't mention anything about the screen being broken amd I couldn't see signs of it being broken. The clerk said, as if to derive some satisfaction, "Tell you what i can do, I'll list your phone as non repairable so you can get a new one at no cost". This sounded like insurance fraud to me as the only problem I was having was with the charging of the phone. I declined and asked her if she could reiterate weather they had the part or not because that's what I thought you were checking on. She said that they do have the charge part and the screen for my Samsung Ultra S22. I asked if they could only fix the carge part as that was the only problem. She said no because the phone is not fixable. There was no actual diagnosis done to it at this point only assumptions as to the bad parts inside the phone. I was then quoted $330 something for a new screen and about $150 for the charging port as they would not be going through the insurance I pay for. They wanted me to pay outta pocket for an insurable issue at this point. I didn't care since I needed my cell phone fixed but I also didn't deserve to be treated with disregard and callous like I was being treated and sure didn't need to give someone my business. I said thank you for your time as I walked out. I began to scan the Google review sign they had showing and then the clerk started to say that she could list my phone is "not repairable " to the insurance carrier Asurion but I told her not to do anything like that. She said I told her the screen was broken but I was too frustrated with the lack of solutions being presented to want to argue. I did mention that I wanted a screen protector as the one I had was cracked... Not the actual screen but she said I said it was the screen. I didn't but despite my transparency they could have helped me find a solution. I ended up cleaning out the charge port and it now charges fine. So much for fixing things. I guess if it's broke they can't fix it, only if it is not broken with no signs of physical damage. False advertisement as far as they're name goes. Called my insurance carrier and a new phone would only cost me $100 without falsified reports of damage or no damage. I am just so frustrated because it was dishonest to state you need to find a part just to go "talk to the boss" about what to do then saying one component could not be fixed because it would...
Read moreThe UBreakiFix location on Holly gave me the worst customer service I have experienced in many years on July 1, 2021.
I had made an appointment the prior day to get an insurance repair done (despite the fact that their website claims walk-ins are welcome, I discovered when I arrived that I needed to make an appointment). When I arrived to get a major crack on the front of my phone repaired, they noticed a tiny and unobtrusive crack on the back of my phone as well - something that was naturally not covered under my insurance.
They refused to do the work for the insured major damage unless I paid over $100 to get the uninsured back replaced, claiming that their contract with Samsung said they could not leave any damage unrepaired. I felt extorted, but I agreed to pay the money in order to get the damage on the front repaired.
After a brief pause while they went to the back of the store, they came back to tell me that they did not have the piece that they needed to replace the back of the phone - something which I did not want done anyway. They also continued to refuse to work on the insured damage on the front of the phone, which was interfering with the normal usage of the phone until they could order the unwanted part for the back.
When I pressed the issue and pointed out how this was entirely their fault that they did not have the needed piece to repair the back, and that the work on the back was unwanted anyway and that I never would have agreed to have it done anyway without their extortion, the manager ordered me to leave the store and threatened to call the cops if I did not leave - though I had not threatened anyone in the store (with anything other than a negative review)
When I called the customer service line on the website, and informed them that I wished to complain about my treatment at their store, after a half hour wait to speak to someone, the customer service representative hung up on me immediately.
To the credit of the corporation, the store on the west side is working diligently to get my needs addressed, and has apologized profusely for the treatment I received at the hands of the store on Holly. But it is clear that the store on Holly needs some serious lessons in customer service, as do the representatives at the corporate office.
Highly recommended that you avoid this place...
Read moreThis is by far the absolute worst place to operate business. I took a completely working phone with a small crack through the front of the screen. It was not that noticeable that even the guy asked what's wrong with it. I was referred by Asurion due to them being an authorized store for repairs. The guy took two contact numbers to call me when the phone was ready, but did say it would take 4 hours. I never received a call that the phone was ready, so after 4 hours I just went down there. Another guy by the name of Sabastian said he had emailed me that there was an issue with my phone. I chuckled a little bit and said how would I know you emailed me when you have my phone. While taking my phone apart he broke a part on it and claimed it was defective. Told me the part would be in the next day, so when I told him that I would take the phone thinking it worked because he handed it to me on. I would return the phone once the part was in. When I was ready to drive away I noticed the phone was not operable. When I went back in the store he acted like I knew that the phone wasn't working. I told him he wasn't clear in his information and that their customer service was poor and I wanted his manager's information. He said he was the manager I asked for his manager's information and of course he got upset. At that point he changed his story and said the part now would take 3 to 5 days to get here and that it was better for me to go through asurion. I told him I was not going to due to a simple 30 dollar repair would now turn into a $250 claim that they caused. He said he was going to enter the notes that the phone came in like that. I got very upset because this shop broke my phone and then was trying to cover it up and enter a false claim and commit fraud. Needless to say he threatened to call the authorities. Worst customer service ever. They failed to commute correctly, left me in limbo, broke my phone worse and failed to make it right. All for a $30.00 repair. Scammers, crooks,...
