UPDATE: A check was issued to cover damages. (Aug 24, 2023)
UPDATE: This location's manager has been a regular hero, going to bat for us to help ensure that corporate finally came through with an offer to pay for damages done. At present, still waiting on payment for damages (Aug 4, 2023), but am assured a check is in the works.
We have been patronizing this location for several years. On June 1, 2023, 8:15am, I took my Honda Odyssey for a wash prior to a trip to the mountains. I immediately noticed through the window that one of the cross bars on my roof rack was missing as it came through the rain tunnel. Outside, when they pulled the van out, someone came out carrying the other cross bar and set it down, telling me that an incident report would be written.
Michelle took the incident report, telling me that sometimes their top brush misses the mark and comes down too hard on top of cars. Apparently broken roof racks are not unfamiliar to the car wash. On inspection, I could see that the brackets had failed on the bracket and snapped. I was assured that I would receive a phone call next day, given two business cars, and went on my way. We were unable to take our kayak on our trip due to the damage.
On our return from our trip, next week, I called the car wash to ask what the status was. I spoke with Franklin, who told me that I would need to take the van in for an estimate and send them the invoice at the car wash email.
I had the car into Honda, where I originally had the roof rack installed, a little less than two weeks later (June 15) and had an estimate same day. Honda assured me they would email the invoice.
Several days later, I called Mister once again to find out what the status was. They informed me they hadn't received the estimate. Honda sent it again. More days passed. July 3, I called again, and was told that Mister needed a different estimate because the labor costs were not included on the actual estimate form. So I reached out to Honda and asked them to send me the email, with the updated estimate, and then sent it to Mister Car Wash's email myself. Today (July 6), I received an email stating that the claim was being refused: "The estimate given was denied by our incidents department. They stated we will not authorize work with service centers. Service centers exist for routine maintenance not body repairs. Body shops/collision centers exist solely for body repairs." They then provided two businesses they preferred to work with. Never once before was I instructed on where I should take the car.
I have made a call and sent an email in response to the above answer, but at this point I am a month out from the damage and am looking at what is probably several more weeks minimum before I will have a functioning roof rack right when I want it most.
Do not take your cars to Mister Car Wash. If they damage it, they may refuse to repair it and leave you running around for...
Read moreI am leaving this review for other travelers that need their vehicle cleaned inside and out. When I pulled up the young man was helpful. I told him specifically that I wanted the interior cleaned and was having a hard time finding a carwash in Albuquerque that did interior too. He seemed excited and said, Yeah, we do interior as well! According to the interior list he showed me it states * Interior Clean + Renovation Cream (which sounded like something they would use on the leather interior. I pulled my car up where he said and went inside. This is one of the two stars I gave them. I was super impressed with the inside of their building. Got the impression that they do care and would do a good job. When I got in my car one of the gentlemen working on my car was plessant and respectful. I got in my car and went to a nearby parking lot to put my backseat pet cover in before picking up my pets. I noticed that the area's that were wiped down were not all that great and noticed the seat had not been wiped off at all. Then I got opened the back door to put in the seat cover, and immediately thought, NOPE! they did nothing but vaccum in the back. The door, cup holders in the door, the seats, none of it was even touched. I got in my car and drove right back to Mister Carwash. The man who I got the car from noticed me pull in. He came over and I said, I paid for interior clean and it was not done. He said, "We don't clean the interior" I said then why was I charged for that? He said we only do the vaccuming, windows and the dash. He called a manager for me who never came. Someone did talk to the man who was helping me but not to me. He did end up wiping down the seats and the inside of the doors, then when I started to put the pet cover on, he also assisted with that. Ultimately, they get one star for the appearence of their business, (I did not use the restrooms so can't speak for them) Then they get one star for the kindness of the employees. Negative three stars for misleading the public. It should be posted in large print and explained by an employee before paid for what is acutally done on the interior. It is not actually interior cleaning. They also, Should Not be charging $16.00 more to wipe down the interior windows and dash. Shame on Mister Carwash for...
Read moreUnfortunately, it is not possible to give 0 stars. I spent $80 to get my car washed here. To clarify, that is $30 for a full service platinum wash, and $50 to get scratch remover and cleaner for the inside of my car from Target. When I got to Mister, I told them I wanted a full service platinum. I was directed where to go, then when I get to the front of the line, the attendant literally laughed at me, and told me I was in the wrong spot, and asked why I didn't follow the signs. Well, unfortunately, I was directed by a misinformed employee. So I get it through, then the next attendant tells me I'm in the wrong spot, so I told him about the previous two attendants. He scoffed, then waved and turned his back. I took my car through, and got to the interior part. The woman opened the door and right away sprayed window cleaner, half of which got into my face. I gathered my things (after everything else, I wasn't going to have them steal my personal belongings) and went inside. Then I was yelled at by the same woman I needed to drive my car to have it vacuumed. So I go back outside and drive my car to be vacuumed. The attendant took about ten minutes trying to figure out where to get me to park, then got mad that I had the audacity to stand outside with my car. So I went back inside, paid, and barely had time to sit down before I was rushed back outside. I went back out, and didn't have time to go over my car, because I was being rushed off the premises. When I got home to look at it, they didn't vacuum the floors, all the windows were dirty, the headlights were dirtier than when I went in, and all the seats were dirtier than before, paint was chipped off the hood and front bumper, there were cracks in multiple places in the front windshield, and the cup holders were flooded. I will never be back again. I made sure to post pictures on Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, and many of my friends were equally disgusted by the work done by Mister. Hopefully I managed to take away a large number of clients and save people a large amount of money in repairs later on...
