We usually LOVE Gruet but today was very disappointing. We have a membership with them and have been in a handful times but not huge wine fans, my wife especially. Anyway, I started getting my wife into wine and she loved this place. We had been a few times with a friend and the service was always so awesome. Savannah always took time to explain to my wife the different types of wine, since she was new to it all. Today I went in my my membership alottment and tried asking Magdalena about different types of whites that my wife may like, especially since the choices were very white heavy. She was rude, not helpful, and I felt like she just wanted me to leave. So I got whatever was on the pre-made list and left. Definitely not the encounter I was expecting or used to but this women is not a pleasure to deal with. I’m hoping that next quarter, someone else is there when I arrive. Seriously, if it wasn’t Savanah I’d go to Total Wine. They have a better selection and way better customer service...
Read moreWe weren’t actually able to visit the tasting room. We arrived at 11 am on a Saturday. According to Google maps and their own web site, they opened at 10 am. We arrived at the same time as the tasting room manager and were gruffly informed that she was just arriving to open and that they don’t open until noon. We told her that we found different information on the web site and were told she would let them know. After returning to our car, we called the number listed on the web site and were told that our situation was unfortunate, and that they had changed their hours TWO years ago, and they have no control over the website. It is handled by people in Seattle. We were traveling in from out of state and timed our stop there based on the information they provided. I really enjoy the wines I have access to in my home state and was looking forward to experiences the rest of their portfolio. Unfortunately, hospitality doesn’t seem to be their...
Read moreThe Tasting Room offers a variety Gruet wines (flights, glasses, and bottles) and lite food offerings. I had the Vinters Flight, a sample of full bodied reds. There was a great aroma when they were delivered to the table. I paired that with small Charcuterie plate that had a combination of meat, chese, fruit, veg, nuts and more. A good value when compared to others locations.
The tasting room is situated inside a beautiful building with an inviting entrance. The service was friendly and attentive. There is a lot of seating. Starting with bar area tables, a more formal area, a ‘barrel room’, and also a small private table that can be reserved. Outdoor seating includes a nice cozy patio as well as natural area w/ trees and umbrellas and a rock fountains. Too bad it’s next to the freeway, however it was still very enjoyable to...
