This was once our go-to for cheap pizza in the area. We used to order once every week or two. I'm sad to say that, after our experience on June 9, we'll never go back.
Things started normally enough. We placed our order online, and my wife gets a call about 25 minutes later from the driver telling us he's in the lobby. I go downstairs to meet him. No driver. My wife calls him back, and tells him he must be at the wrong address. The driver, Syed, insists he isn't. Our lobby is quite small, and I'm still standing in it. He's most certainly not there, nor is there a car out front. My wife calls him yet again to ask him to check his address. He begins to berate her about wasting his time, and how we need to get downstairs and pick up the pizza immediately.
My wife calls the store, and asks to speak to the manager. The manager, Tanzeel, asks her why she's being so impatient. He says the driver will get there when he gets there. She tries to explain to him that it's not so much the wait time, but rather the fact that her driver is being disrespectful and is clearly lost. The manager hangs up on her. My wife calls him back again. Same general response, with a vague promise to contact the driver.
Forty-five minutes later, after watching three different Domino's cars drive by my building, Syed actually shows up. He offers no apology, and instead acts like we've wronged him in some way. No tip for him.
I get back our home with the pizzas, which by this point are congealed, heading toward cold, and taste like cardboard. I call Tanzeel to complain about both their attitude and the quality of service. He apologizes profusely, and asks that we "give [them] another chance." He offers to comp the pizza and give us a coupon for a free pizza the next time we order. He takes none of my information. I point this out to him. He tells me he has the order right in front of him, and he's going to initiate the chargeback immediately. More's the fool me for believing him, I suppose. It's now been almost two weeks, and there's been no chargeback and no coupon.
Bottom line - if you're a fan of management teams that outright lie, very poor customer service, and cold, soggy pizza, this is the place for you. If not, I strongly recommend you find somewhere else to sate your...
Read moreEvery time I have ordered from this location the delivery drivers don’t understand how to deliver to an apartment building with a concierge. This time it was with my delivery driver Lamesgen. He was absolutely horrible!!!!! Almost all of the apartment buildings in Crystal City and Pentagon City have a concierge which you have to see in order to be let up to the units. In my order, I specifically gave instructions to see the concierge. He told the concierge that he was to drop off the pizza with her. No where in my instructions or my phone conversation with him did I tell him to drop my pizza off at the front desk. The purpose of ordering delivery is to have it delivered to your front door. I repeatedly told him my unit number and specifically said to him that the concierge will let him up to the unit over the phone. I could barely understand him due to his accent, but I made it very clear as to what he needed to do to deliver the order to the door. So even after telling him to come upstairs, my pizza sat downstairs for 15 minutes before I called the driver to see if he needed help with coming upstairs. He didn’t even attempt to bring it upstairs or notify me that he left it downstairs. The drivers at this location are the laziest people ever and I have had to fight with them to actually come to my apartment. These people need training in the worst way. Management does nothing to remedy the situation even though it looks like they do on google reviews. I believe the corporate office should know what a horrible dominos location this is and that the service that they provide is just ridiculous and poor. Because the drivers don’t understand the delivery process or are told by management to do this to save time, what could have been an exceptional pizza is now cold and just gross. My advice is for people to skip the delivery process and order from the other local store on Columbia Pike...
Read moreWorst delivery experience ever. Ordered the pizza to be delivered to the hotel and used the tracker feature. Order submitted at 10:44 p.m. We noticed the tracker Tracker seemed stuck on "quality check" for 30 minutes before it went to "delivery." Then finally get texted that Ashan left the store at 11:24 p.m. with the pizza (store is 1.8 miles away) so figured 10 to 15 minutes tops. At 12:08 p.m. another text that Ashan has entered the neighborhood and would be arriving shortly so we go downstairs to the lobby ready for when he pulls up to grab our pizza. Wait and wait still no sign of Ashan. Try to phone store but of course no answer since they are closed. Almost 1:00 a.m. so we figured it isn't coming so we decided to just go to sleep. Then at 1:17 a.m. another text that says "get ready as Ashan is pulling up now" so back down the elevator to the lobby exhausted but hungry and retrieve the pizza at 1:30 a.m. Almost 3 hours from the time it was ordered! Of course it was ice cold and like cardboard and to add insult to injury we paid $35 for a large thin crust inedible pizza which included a 20% tip. When I phoned this morning and told the manager about our experience he said he would give us another pizza. Well now I have left the hotel and the city to return home to Norfolk so this is not an option. I requested a refund on my credit card instead and he said we don't do refunds. I ask for his name and he utters out what I felt was a fake name and then hangs up on me. No answer when I attempted to call back. I am now trying to get my refund from the customer service app. We will see how this works out. My advice is to order elsewhere where the customer is treated fairly and with respect. If this location cannot handle the volume and give customers the service they deserve then they should not accept the order. I would have ordered somewhere else had I known this was such a...
