Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Alexandria

7-30-25 Update My Wife and I decided to give Outback another shot and I have to say I’m glad we did. The drinks, appetizers and main courses came out quick. Our server Fred was great, very attentive but didn’t hover, I could seem him checking our table from a distance, he was very polite and helpful. Thanks Fred and everyone else in the back that provided quick service and good food. 7-15-23 This was our worst visit to an Outback. The kid/guy that brought our drinks out was rude as hell. Enough that it pissed me off from the get go. We ordered the loaded Bloomin Onion and this thing was so over seasoned it was almost not edible. My tongue was burning from the amount of salt on it. I had the Prime Rib Sandwich. This thing was so dry and bland. I ended up just trying to eat the meat out of the sandwich but the meat had so much gristle in it that I couldn’t. The fries were ok. My wife had an Outback Burger, it was also Bland and not cooked to the doneness requested. The waitress seemed to have a hard time understanding the toppings that my wife requested on her burger and then she gets the burger with almost nothing on it at all. She also didn’t finish her food. We left half of the food on the table. This was very disappointing but this seems to be the going trend with restaurants now. There aren’t many good ones left.

2-17-20* Revisit My wife and I brought our children here for the first dates. I explained the situation to the host and he was very courteous in getting us all our own tables in the same area. Our waiter was also very courteous in helping us with this situation. My little girl is only 8 and my son is 14. The waiter done an excellent job working with us all especially the children. Outback has always been one of our favorite places to eat. Thanks go out to the staff that helped make this night special for us all. FYI..the floors are a bit too slippery. This is a concern for people falling and getting hurt. The mens bathroom floors are worse. Although everything is clean the floor have a very slippery residue on them.

We went at 4pm on a Friday and were seated instantly. Our server Paul H was awesome. The food was perfect. The burger was cooked perfect, lots of flavor. The appetizer was insane. If you get an appetizer get this and try it. Mac and cheese balls are dang good. My wife said the Shrimp on the barbie were seasoned good and cooked perfect. Paul H recommended trying the New Ginger Bread Martini which was freakin awesome. This was probably our best dining experience...

We ordered the Tasmanian shrimp & Lobster pasta. I called ahead to inquire on if we can ask for no red peppers as I previously purchased this pasta from Outback. They added so many peppers & so much juice from the peppers that it was unbearable to eat. However, staff stated that we could ask for No peppers and that the sauce was pre-made but left out that peppers were included in the sauce as well. We hung up and I placed an order online for pickup. Once we arrived, we checked our orders and it had red peppers on it. We inquired about the order with the young lady that brought out our food. She became agitated and argued that the red we saw in the pasta was lobster and that there was no peppers in it. We explained that they were in fact peppers and not lobster. She then stated that she would go get management. After speaking with this young lady, I then realized that she was the same one that took my call. I realized then that the miscommunication began there because she isn't aware of what's actually in the meals prepared. But thankfully she did get management. Two young ladies came out and they were absolutely amazing, understanding, and helpful. Everything was clarified and we were even given extra Alfredo sauce just in case we had the same problem with the overload of spice. (It's understood that its a Tasmanian spicy pasta. However, spicy and unbearable to eat are 2 different things). However, this time the pasta was better without the overload of peppers and juice. Also, the pasta literally had 4 small pieces of lobster in it that looks as if they cut 2 small pieces of lobster tail into 4. Both pastas were made the same way. This was very disappointing as we pay a decent amount to patronize Outback. The food and the young lady that brought out our food were very disappointing. To management, Thank you for being so amazing at what you do. We will be back not for the pasta, but...

Went here with my date for dinner. Got inside and it was PACKED! Waiting about 20 minutes for a table. I thought “it must be good if it’s this many people here plus the air smells so good and making me more hungry!” It kinda had a romantic feel too. Well it went downhill from there we were seated and first off the waitress was horrible! I had to tell her 4 times what I wanted! I ordered a burger “well done” and she kept changing up my order and I had to keep correcting her. Well we waited literally 40 minutes for our food and since it was packed I thought maybe that’s why. Anyway we finally got our food and as soon as they sat the food down and I’m a not even joking large GNATS started swarming our food! That was utterly disgusting and I had to keep swiping them away! I tried to eat coz it wasn’t cheap but the burger I asked for to be well done was pink in the middle and just tasted kinda bad! I was in shock! For the price you would expect better from a steakhouse! You’re better off going to McDonald’s! Seriously! A McDonald’s burger would have tasted better than this! I don’t know how this place has so many good reviews unless you like eating bugs with your food! 🤮 I straight up told the waitress about the gnat problem and that I lost my appetite coz of it! She just said “omg I’ll tell them about it” then another lady come and I told her about the problem and asked for a discount coz I wasn’t eating coz of the gnat problem and she atleast was cool enough to give me one. There was no way I was paying full price for this trash! My date atleast ate his food and liked it but he also had the same problem with the gnats.
