Came here tonight after many of times. It was me and 3 other people, sitting in the back of the restaurant. We got sat at a booth, every booth near us was dirty and not cleaned off the whole time we were there. Our server was Julissa, she gave us our croissants and queso with no share plates. I had to ask for little plates to start off with. We finally ordered our food, food came out 30 minutes later and mash potatoes was cold but I didn’t care, I was just hungry. After we got our food, we never saw our waiter again. Never checked up on us at all to ask how our food was doing or if we needed anything else. She had a table right next to us and every time she helped them she never acknowledged us at all. She didn’t fill up our waters or anything the whole time we were there, didn’t take plates away when we were done eating. I had to go up to the bar and ask for a refill of water because I didn’t know where she was. After I came back from getting water, all the tables around us were still dirty with plates and cups from before we sat down, and I look over and see a bunch of servers just sitting at a booth talking about how much money they made and about previous tables/customers they had. They were about 2 or 3 booths away from us while all these tables are still dirty. At this point I finally went to go talk to a manager. I then explained my experience with the manager and she listened. I told her I didn’t want anything taken off the bill or anything, I just wanted my experience to be better next time if I do come back. She then offered to void my transaction that already been payed and do 50% off, but then I decline the offer. She then proceeded to give me a $10 off my next visit coupon which was nice. We sat and talked for a while and our table was still never cleaned off for about an hour. Server finally came back and we said thank you for taking the plates and she didn’t say anything just had a rude face and just took the plates away and didn’t say a word. We were all in shock after I just explained myself to the manager about my experience not too long ago. Honestly I don’t know if I would come back to this cheddars with the type of customer service I got tonight. Read moreOn Friday, 08/29/2025, I had guest from Atlanta and Chicago, (daughter and mother) who both wanted to go to Cheddars for lunch! I agreed, because I love Cheddars too! Well, we got there at 11:45am and was immediately seated!! No one came to our table to get our order! After 25 minutes, we were getting a little restless! We kept seeing a young lady pass our table, but never stopped to greet us! So, another 5mins had passed! It was 30mins and I stopped the waitress and told her we had been sitting there for 30 mins! I think she said her name was Victoria! She took our drink orders and our food orders at the same time! I timed her to see how long it would take to get our water, drinks and croissants! We never got our water or croissants and as we saw new people coming in, she served them and we had been waiting another 25 mins for drinks and croissants! Well she finally brought croissants, no water, drinks nor saucers for the croissants! We waited another 20 minutes for saucers and water and I was furious and went seeking the manager! I found the manager! His name was Earnest! I told him we have not been served and had been there over an hour! He asked where we were seated and came over and got us some hot croissants, saucers, water and our drinks! I told him that the young lady had serviced everyone who came after us on purpose! She came over and stood next to him! I then told Ernest, and my family who was excited and really hungry, I have to do this! I turned to the waiter and said "young lady, you have mistreated us and young lady you are fired!" And Ernest apologized for her behavor and told us our meal was on the house and that he would personally serve us and he was amazingly attentive to us as well as still making sure he was fulfilling his job as a manager! This review would have been very disappointing if Ernest wouldn't have turned this visit around! We left pleased and loved Ernest to the point we are going back today! The centerpiece of any dining experience is, of course, the food. On this front, Cheddar's did not disappoint. The chicken tenders and shrimp I ordered were tasty and promptly served. The chicken was juicy and tender, while the shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavorful, presenting an excellent balance of spices. The food certainly lived up to the hype.
Additionally, the overall atmosphere was pleasant and friendly, contributing to the restaurant's reputation as a comfortable place for a casual meal. The decor was warm and inviting, with a classic American dining ambiance that makes you feel right at home.
Where the establishment faltered, however, was in the hygiene department. To my dismay, the silverware provided on multiple occasions was visibly dirty. While the staff was quick to replace the utensils each time, it was concerning that the replacements also had cleanliness issues. This is a basic expectation of any dining experience, and it's essential that Cheddar's address this issue promptly.
The service was adequate, but there's certainly room for improvement. Our waitress, while friendly, could have been a bit more attentive and ensured that everything was in order, particularly considering the issue with the silverware.
In conclusion, while the food and atmosphere at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen were commendable, the experience was tarnished by some significant issues with cleanliness and service. My hope is that Cheddar's management will take these criticisms on board and make the necessary adjustments. For now, I feel comfortable awarding four stars out of five, with the hope that the restaurant can elevate itself to the full five in the future.
