JOY Macarons — Restaurant in Allen

Bought a 12 pack of regular macarons & a 6 pack of ice cream sandwiches. Biting into the back-to-school seasonal flavor of peanut butter & currant jam brought back childhood memories of PB&J sandwiches. The strawberry ice cream sandwich pleasantly surprised me since it is non-dairy & tasted like gelato.

The macarons had the right amount of crunch mixed in with the soft filling without it sticking to your teeth. The ice cream sandwiches were not bad either but the ice cream made the macaron have a "staler" texture at times so I prefer the traditional bite-sized macarons.

Staff was friendly & the area manager introduced herself to see if she could help answer any questions. Everything is gluten free & they have seasonal flavors. Right now, there's a Texas state fair theme with classic flavors such as caramel apple, sheet cake, bacon maple, to name a few. I recently made a quick stop at Joy Macarons to get macarons for my friend, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The shop itself had a charming French ambiance, with a cool color scheme that set a joyful mood. The macarons were truly a work of art, beautifully crafted and meticulously baked, without any broken parts. We opted for the 2 6-pack macarons, and one of them happened to be the limited edition banana foster flavor, which was a delightful surprise. My kids absolutely adored them!

The owner and staff were incredibly kind and attentive, taking the time to explain the artistry behind macaron baking. They even offered customized macarons for just 50 cents extra per macaron, although there was a minimum order requirement of 25.

I got the seasonal Lucky Charms ice cream sandwich, while my partner opted for a smaller seasonal Irish Cream macaron cookie.

First of all, the macaron ice cream sandwiches are huge! Definitely shareable if you're worried about too much sweet in one go. I finished mine with some help.

The flavors of both the ice cream and the macs were so light and yet decadent at the same time. If you like marshmallow flavor you'll love this treat.
